Meat, that Military rep was just awesome! That is a strict military press of me with all of my work, geek gear on. Great Job!
Thanks Strick. I wish i had done the strict press sooner. all the push pressing i did was a waste of time.

I’m going to take the guys to a park nearby. There’s plenty of fields and tall hills. We are going to take my sled and weighted vest to do some hill sprints and sled pulls. through the week i’ll do light conditioning work as well.
i get winded walking across the parking lot to the gym:)
In the spirit of video taping your workouts, don’t forget to include footage of these sessions, vomiting and all!
Must be the season (and the constant chatter of hillsprints), but I’ve been eyeing up the hills around here as well. I just can’t imagine dieting right now, so adding them in might be just the ticket. Plus, I can’t stand steadystate cardio in the summer.
There’s a ‘conditioning’ forum, but soon we’re going to need an “Over 35: Conditioning and Incontinence” forum.
don’t you worry… i’ll be whore’n up the conditioning with vids as well.
speak’n of whore’n vids… i just got an email from Youtube. they want to do some profit sharing with me. apparently some of my vids are popular and they want to place some ads on them to make some money.

We used to do push press when I was in HS. I think it served a good purpose there, as it really helps with one’s timing and coordination…trying to get the lower body and upper body to fire properly, in relation to one another. It was great for teaching folks explosiveness…how to fire off the ball and explode through their opponent. And, it also allowed for us to “overload” the joints in prep for heavier weights.
For carry over into bench though, and just building a strong OH press, my uneducated guess is that you are absolutely right. Strict, or relatively strict, is the way to go. If nothing else, though, I bet all those push presses primed your joints for the tonnage you are moving.

it’s like God took every ounce of good in me and made her. when i say she is the best of me i mean that with all my heart. the sun rises and sets with her.
i don’t know how someone can’t believe in a higher power after seeing your child born.

What a sweetheart!! Gotta stop lettin’ her hang around with Pete though, she has almost as much gear on as he does when he lifts… including the helmet! lol!
Thankfully all your goodness went into making her… but his Holiness wrapped her up on the outside to look like her mom Boss… :)) love ya!

i appreciate the comment but it really weirded me out. i know you don’t mean it in any other way but as a compliment but not long ago. i had this dude that kept commenting on my pressing vids. he would ask if i thought i could press him overhead. when i clicked on his youtube site he had vids of himself in a pair of tighty whiteys with different dudes lifting him overhead. it was so eery.

i bought her the bike and then the next day all the gear showed up. i guess i should thank Pete for that.
she definitely looks like her mother… but has my temper.

I just had reaffirmation of this week for the third time. I also had reaffirmation that no matter what goal I pursue in the gym, like a 600 lb raw squat, it will NEVER be as much work as what I saw my wife, again, push something so big through a hole that small (with no drugs to boot!)…

tell me you wear boxer briefs.
tell me!!!
Uh…actually, I do wear boxer briefs. And you are correct. I was referencing the fact that dressed, with pagers, cell phone, etc…, etc…, I weigh about 295#.
Don’t worry…I have an aversion to being pressed…lol. For that matter, to being curled, squatted, deadlifted…
