Seated DB Press
4x50
2x80
1x100 …lol… too fatigued and I knew it with how heavy the 80’s felt but I tried anyway… that high rep set killed the strength I had left.

Dips
10xBW
10xBW+45
20xBW

Got that 430 that I wanted. Heavy as hell at lockout. That 225 set was fun… could get more if I was fresh I think. When I did the 80’s on the shoulder press I knew I was pretty fatigued but tried it anyway. 100’s felt like a ton at that point, heh. Dips were fun… felt more pumped than I have in a while leavin the gym.

Bench - 315x17…uuuhhhh, ummmmmm, Damn! Now I feel like a girl! Nice work

Those are some massive numbers you guys, big benching.

thanks hoss!! next week i’ll get closer to that 20 goal.

thanks!! things are moving forward.

deadlift night- everything is progressing nicely. i came up with a plan to hit the deadlift goal of 500x20. I’ve decided to pull against bands for reps with 405 for 10 reps and then increase the reps with 405 until i reach 20. then, i’ll up the weight to 455, starting over at 10 reps and working back up to 500. the bands add approximately 100lbs at lockout. once i can hit 455 x 20 against bands i should be golden for 500 x 20. my goal for tonight was 405 x 10 against bands. i hit that pretty easily. next time my goal will be 15 reps. i also used my t-rex deadlift technique for the first time with some moderate weight. i really like it. i’m stick’n with it.

anyway… this is what i did tonight

reverse band deads- medium bands
315x4
405x4
495x1
585x1
735x1

deadlift against minibands
315x4
405x10- this was a good start towards my goal.

GHR’s against minibands
2 sets x 10 reps

incline situps against minibands

2 sets x 10 reps

Nice work. I was going to make a joke about you being such a Wendler nutswinger, but decided not to. Damn near everyone is.

Q regarding your opinion on the rev band DLs. My experience is they really don’t deload as much weight as you would expect, i.e. I have worked up to my max triple, and it still felt nearly as brutal as ‘raw’ for a better word. Opinion?

Nice work boys… those are some serious freakin’ goals… might have tried to get there when I was younger, don’t think I could now…

i agree totally… i find that the heavier the weight, the less they deload the bar. that’s why when people ask how much the bands take off, the answer really depends on the bar weight. that set of 735 felt all of 600 plus off the floor and over 700 at lockout but with lighter weights the bands take up to 200lbs off the bottom. the medium bands have a ton of drop off as well. the heavy ones are more progressive with drop off and the mediums just drop all at once. i really notice it on squats and bench.

thanks buns…

you act like you are this over the hill guy. Dave is 50, weighs 220 now becuase he works outside hanging off of building as a steele worker and still pushes me. he’s pretty damn close to hitting all those number as well.

age is only a number hoss.

Scott, you and your crew are really tearing it up. What kind of weights does Dave throw around?? Would he ever post on here like Jowee does??

i’m pretty sure Dave is keyboard impared. He doesn’t spend any time online.

Dave is always biting at my heals. It’s actually pretty damn amazing. the dude is 50, He works outside all day hanging from buildings and only weighs around 220.

if i had to guess, i would say at the present moment he has a raw 400lb bench, 560 or so raw squat and a raw deadlift in the low 600’s.

It’s a fact that i wouldn’t push myself as hard as i do if he wasn’t right there pushing me.

Your foot positioning . . . looks like you’re on the side of your feet in your DL. Why?

that’s my new deadlifting style i call the “t-rex deadlift” i stumbled upon it two weeks ago doing speed deads. i find that it activates the hips and keeps the weight centered better. i also find that my hips don’t rise too soon doing this. give it a try…who knows.
