Not All Big Guys Do 'Roids

Furthermore, those are some pretty puffy nipples.

Graaaah!

a) Who says?

b) But I am on the inside!

c) Why set limits for yourself?

d) Where’s my shoe?[/quote]

Vroom proving once again it’s not the steroids.

Why the fuck is thread still alive anyways? It’s a goddamn statue, quit planing your genetic limits around a fucking billion year old statue that may or may not have been molded after a real person. Go eat a fucking hamburger and squat. “BUT JACK HIS NIPLES ARE SO PUFFY” Really? IT’S A FUCKING STATUE! “BUT LOOK AT ALL THE COOL TEXT THATS SO MOTIVATING” Really? IT’S A FUCKING STATUE!

Any other questions you guys have will be answered with the above statement.

Shit if I was born with that bone structure or muscle mass, I think my mother would’ve had some tough labor!

I think I was like only 6lbs when I was born.

So I see the point is still going over your head?

You’re response is really not factual.

It’s difficult for me to tell but it looks as though you agree with my point (the idea behind the thread).

It was really simple…

“Do not use other’s steroid use or your lack of thier use as an excuse to not get huge!”

Nevertheless, there were people in ancient times who were no doubt enormously strong and well built. If you want proof of pre-steroid strength, look no further than the stone-lifting traditions.

“The stone of Bybon. Found in the southeast of Pelopeion in the Prevenance of Olympia, this large block of undressed sandstone, measuring 68x33x38cm and weighing 143.5kgs (316lbs) is said to have been lifted overhead by the athlete Bybon.” - from Of Stones and Strength.

At Santorin, a much larger block of volcanic mass was found, weighing almost half a ton (480kgs) and bearing the inscription “Eumastas, the son of Critobulus, lifted me from the ground.” - this was from the 6th century BC.

Humans have hardly evolved in the past 50,000 years let alone the past 3,000 years. People back then were just the same as today - same mentally and physiologically.

Now it is possible some of those people were freaks (there are some people with extraodinarily thick tendons for example) but then look to the stonelifting traditions of Scotland etc… where all young men had to lift a stone of a certain weight to be accepted, and there is recent proof of great strength being attainable without steroids.

And it might have been more common. Who knows how many potential mega-strongmen are out there eating chips and watching footy and doing a deskjob instead of hard labour every day (or exercise) building them into a ferocious bundle of muscle.

The Greeks achknowledged 3 different physique types for males as ideal: herculean was one, the others were based on the god of war and the god of messenges (more of a normal physique, and more of an endurance physique)

I suspect Hercules was a real person who travelled and probably conquered a lot. When Alexander the Great followed the travels of Hercules, the places he went to already knew about Hercules, even in India, as I recall … so someone very big, strong and powerful travelled right across the med. and through to India about 3,000 years ago, and we’re chatting about him today with technology they could only have dreamed of.

And he fathered lots of kids too probably so maybe he’s the ancestor of many of us lol

worst thread ever!

I don’t know why we’re looking to an ancient statute…There are plenty of LIVING credible, big guys today who claim not to do roids. And all of the evidence says they should be beleived. As much as anyone can ever be taken at their word without monitoring 24/7. But agree with your overall message…

I forget his name, but the huge black guy from The Green Mile comes to mind.

Oh my GAWD! IT’S NOT ABOUT THE F-ING STATUE!

And stumpy… screw!

Bodybuilding and Art are synonomous so I get that part.

Trying to motivate people through a cool picture and sentiment I get that part.

But I am still amazed that so many people were staring at the Genitals of a statue let alone commenting on them.

Yet people are still disrespecting the person who started the thread and totaly missing their honest attempt to offer something motivating.

The thread is still alive because everyone is responding. Albeit to discuss a statue’s nads and other such nonsense which doesn’t have a whole lot to do with any thing accept maybe a fixation on testicles and it shows.

It was a cool pic, the person posting doesn’t deserve any shit, and the statue itself is one of the most incredible work of art the world has known, a little education on the subject may help.

If you think that guys big you should check out the Colossis of Rhodes…

Damn! That was well written. Thanks for the backup.

For all reading this… Bodyguard’s reply was EXACTLY the point here.

Sometimes I regret even posting things here because of all the nonsense replies that are so far off topic.

Bodyguard has renewed my faith in mankind.

Thanks for the site.

These words I found there could easily make it in the “Strong Words” IMO:

"ARE YOU A BODYBUILDER?
The men seen in these galleries built their physiques with very hard work, dedication, and a goal firmly set in their mind. They had no muscle-building supplements, drugs, or even modern musclebuilding techniques. They often had to invent the exercises and devices until they found something that they found worked for them. Their photographs are old fashioned, but their courage was not. There are countless men today who are building their physiques in basements, bedrooms, and home town gyms around the world.

Many will never compete, but they are bodybuilders just the same. They come from every age group, economic background and profession. If you are one of these men, be proud and understand when you look at the numerous images on the Sandow website that you carry on a great and noble tradition in the sport of bodybuilding!"

Dude, I love that quote. Strong words for sure.

So you are thinking I’m gonna add about an inch and a half to my wrist size and ankle size by lifitng heavy weight? Or somehow eating correctly is going to give me a frame capable of supporting 300 lbs of body weight with a resonable amount of body fat? You are not living in reality.

It’s people that get the idea in their head that lifting and eating right is going to get them to a point like that statue that don’t stay in the gym. Unless of course they are the genetically gifted and can attain that size. But you can usually tell a person like that before they even start lifting. For the 99% of the rest of us average guys, it takes years just to be bigger and stronger than all the other slugs in society. And that’s a great accomplishment in itself. But believing that every joe that steps in the gym is capable of 19 inch arms with no roids or GH is a recipe for frustration.

Agreed…makes me wonder why you started this thread refering to a drawing of an ancient statue to prove that you do not need to use steroids to be big…

You used a statue? Of Heracles? A mythical uber strong being as your proof that you can get big naturally?

What are you fucking retarded?

Whether it’s greek or roman doesn’t matter, the fact that it’s AN ARTISTIC REPRESENTATION OF MYTH that’s the problem.
