I have noticed that there is a disturbing trend on this particular section of the forum.
That trend is for apparent “newbies” (or “oldies” under a different screen name causing trouble) to suddenly appear (with under 30 or so posts on the forum), make an outlandish claim against the administration, fight it out with the ones who bite, and then suddenly disapear, or only make rare appearences after that. What is their real purpose?
I will no longer respond to posts whose only purpose is to spew hate agasint President Bush, or put forth some outlandish conspiracy theory. I do have extra time during my day and enjoy debating with some of the liberals on the forum. In fact, much can be learned from a simple give and take regarding the real issues of the day put forth in an intelligent manner. However, I am not going to get sucked into stupidity.
Obviously, all members will do as they choose. However, before responding to some of these wacky posts click on the persons name and follow a few of their other posts (if indeed they have any other posts). Do you really want to spend ten or twenty minutes of your life responding to nut jobs, or one of the regular liberals who just can’t get over the fact that President Bush was reelected?
If we let the thing die with no response this will discourage more of the same. These wack jobs are sitting in front of their computer typing one handed feeling like victory is theirs simply because some of the brighter republicans (or for that matter democrats as well) on this thread have responded.
At the same time, I completely agree with you. But, what bothers me even more, is when people post stuff on the nutrition/building a better body forums and never even add to that post again. Since after all we are on a homepage addressing training more thoroughly than politics, I find it strange when people ask a question, get an answer along with another question, and then never reply. Oh well…
Gee Zeb, couldn’t you have just not responded? Or does it stroke your ego to make your big announcement? I’m sure a lot of people will be overjoyed that you don’t respond to their posts. There the same tired old responses anyway!
Maybe you could start a thread entitled “Bush praisers only” where you and Jeff and a few others could shower each other with compliments all day long! I promise, I wouldn’t touch it!

I did what Zeb suggests with Flanker’s recent “Bush is a war criminal post”. I read one of his other posts and found where he stated that the 2nd amendment of the constitution does not apply to individuals, only the militia. That is a nut-job fringe theory and it helped to confirm my belief that he/she was not worth wasting much time on.
For the record, this does not apply to everyone who disagrees with me(or us). Vroom, Elk, RSU, Professor X and others are often at odds with our viewpoints, but I can respect their intellect. I believe those guys are capable of reason, while some of these other screeching leftists are not.
Works both ways for sure, but it doesnt seem to me that their are many far right extremists here(you call those fascists, and they wouldnt be tolerated by the rest of us).

The hatred that you have shown in this post does not constitute something that I would ignore. However, it is a direct personal attack. This is something that never adds to anyones credibility, including your own.
On many occasions you have posted some very interesting items. I have responded, we have disagreed, but overall it has usually been somewhat productive.
It is the hypocrisy in some of your posts that I hate. I know you are a decent man who works hard and takes care of his family, but in the political arena you become very judgemental and narrow minded, masking it in a polite but insidious fashion.
Where is the “let’s not respond” mantra to the assholes that say Democrats or liberals should get the fuck out of the country! I will say it again, I served my country and would do it again if needed and yes, I am a proud Democrat! I would like any one of those bums who say Democrats are terrorist supporters or “should get the fuck out of the country” to say it up close and personal and I would like to know what the fuck their credentials are to make that demand in the first place!
Anyone can PM if they feel the need to say it in a more personal fashion!

I agree with you 100%. Posts which state things such as you describe need to be ignored! I don’t usually participate in those either. Have you noticed? I think a good discussion of the issues is fun and a good way to give the other side a closer look. Nothing wrong with that. Right? I’m sure you do the same thing.
By the way, my father is a life long democrat who served in World War two. I am proud of him and all that he represents. If anyone called him “un-American” or told him to leave the country I would have a real problem with that!

Hell, he jumped into that whole Patriot Act thread without a clue. It truly doesn’t surprise me that he is the first to usually respond with the most basic “right wing” response available for the english language. However, not one person who claims to be “conservative” would ever dwell on his responses and try to point out fault…because he agrees with them.

Zeb, it may be because life gets in the way, or they are not as passionately devoted to this forum or website as you are. It may just be one of the many facets of their life and not their overriding purpose for living.
As someone who is a ‘mid-rank’ poster on this forum, there are times when I will be able to log in a write a few posts everyday, but there are days or more where I am too flat out busy with work, training and chasing tail to log on.
PS if people believe President Bush deserves criticism then they have the right to do so. You have the right to defend him or to ignore them. That’s what the forum is for.
These boards are about criticism and discusion. I could not agree with you more. And it matters not who is getting the brunt of the criticism. However, as my original post stated, conspiracy theories and spewing hate can be avoided, so that liberals and conservatives and all in between, can actually debate real issues.

You are correct. I did not understand every aspect of the Patriot Act. After your nasty retort, I went and read both the original and Patriot Act II.
I was going to lecture you on the fact that there are actually more judges responsible for oversight than there were before 9/11. But, what is the point? You put your head in the sand with the best of them.
Sometimes between posts on the forum, I sit here and imagine I’m on crossfire with every liberal on the forum as the opposing guest. They say samething BAD about my reason for living, the President, and I get up shake my fist at them and laugh while they tremor in fear!
