You’re way more confident in your ability to build strength than I am in mine lol.

This could very well happen Tuesday. If it does, I’ll post the video. One of those specific things I’m excited about.

I’m interested in the beltless stuff. I was too weak to try it on squats since I started pushing them again, but I think I’ll do it soon. I’m also interested in seeing how your squat takes off with the belt.

Yeah Thursday was the first time literally in months that squatting didn’t feel absolutely terrible. I’m confident in my squat again.
I’d be very happy if you posted videos

I will lol
In.
7/16/13
Squat
-135x5
-225x5
-315x5
-405x1 – paused; no belt; harder than I would’ve liked; decided not try 495; bar position wasn’t good either
*Hadn’t eaten worth over the past several days. Didn’t do everything in my power to prepare myself for such a big strength jump.
Anderson Squat
-315x5
-405x3
-495x2 – the impact from the bar on the pins gave me a headache
-585x1 – easy; no belt; held it for a few seconds; slow eccentric; could’ve kept going heavier but didn’t feel like it
*Lifting from the next slot down, so starting a little deeper in the squat. Felt harder at first, but then it didn’t. ROM progression.
Strict Press
-45x10
-135x9
-225x1 – kinda easy; should be a PR there soon
*In hindsight, this would’ve been good for a video, but oh well.
Lifting with a friend from high school. Pretty much illuminated how boring it is to lift by myself. All my rest periods were short. Could’ve been stronger that day, but I was undereating the past several days by a considerable amount as well as the pre-lifting portion of that day, so it’s expected. My squat is coming back together regardless. There’s just a few more kinks. Bar position hasn’t been cemented like I thought. On this height of the Anderson squat, the bar is inline with the top of my abs, so it’s starting very low. My pressing strength is coming back as well, and my joints feel good. I’ll get a video of something Thursday.

First strongman comp in October. Second powerlifting meet in November. Starting MMA in the fall as well.
7/21/13
Anderson Squat (from slot 9)
-315x3
-495x3
-585x2
-675x1
-765x1 default PR
*I think this helps with mobility though it’s more taxing on the back and body overall than the slot above it.
Strict Press
-45x12
-45x8
-135x5
-205x1
Cable Curl
150x20 – 15 second rest
180x10
I think I lost more weight. I look leaner.

For some reason that reminded me of a Zydrunas Savickas interview I read once. His answers were in kinda broken English and hysterically funny (to me).
“In the beginning my shoulders were not so strong, but I like to train shoulders because it’s the easiest training, just sitting and pressing bar. I like it very much and my shoulders get so strong.”
“I never change my training routine, I just lift more weight every training session and every year.”
