Nikki's Workout Log

Kicking ass, Nikki~

you put together your own program?

OMG! What kind of insanity is mixing HIIT with weights! HAHAHA! You’re insane.

BTW, did i tell you that your pic (the hot wifebeater) looked great! You’re def leaning out.

Anywho. Good work on getting on the detox. I’m in the same boat myself.

And nice complex! I just wrote it down for myself. Thanks biatch! I’ll put in something for the “something else” you couldn’t remember

Keep killing it girlie!

Thanks Edgy, yeah I do my own program. I don’t have anything set in stone though, I just commit my split to memory, then I’ll figure out the specifics later. And “later” is often the night before the workout or when I’m warming up on the treadmill.

Thanks Maschy, I can’t wait to get some progress pics in here. But that’ll be sometime later this month

Ooh, I remembered the “something else” that I did. They were jump squats.

I know I’m on and off this site, I’ll be back soon though ;D

I get hungry after coming in here!

Sports psychologist seems like a career to which you are uniquely suited. More power to you on that.

You do not train like you tweaked your foot, so I’m gonna assume that was just minorly annoying.

Eh, I get hungry after going to your log too Kim.
I’m just diet food, nothing interesting there.
I’m trying to trick everyone here into eating tofu through subliminal messages so I don’t have to drool over all the gyros posted in PW

I think the foot was a 2 day occurence. It started hurting Thursday I believe, and I know that it was still hurting on arms day because I desperately wanted to sit down during curls, but didn’t know how that will work.
But now, I think it’s gone, I think it was just a tweak, where you just need to twist it out.

Of course, one pain leaves and another enters. Freaking back has been killing me all day from those damn burpees.
Oh yeah, and tomorrow’s legs.
No worries, I’ve been doing spinal twists all day, I’ll probably get a heating pack on low setting to sleep on and I’ll switch up my workout to be more back friendly.

Eats:

1 scoop PP in water
2 scrambled eggs with leftover tofu-stir fry and 2 slices of bacon
7 pieces of celery, 2 TBSP of PB and 2 TBSP cream cheese
7 chicken wings and 1.5 cups of green beans
1 hard boiled egg and 12 almonds
Protein shake with 1/2 PP powder, 1 egg white, 1 TBSP PB, 1/4 cup CC, dash of milk

Oh, did I mention how I dropped 1% BF in like, 5 days?!
I was so excited. On the 3rd I was up to 19% BF… boo
Checked it yesterday, down to 18.0%

cabbage patch dance

Done dancing, g’night all <3

Um just caught up on your workout log (kinda skimmed the first 39pages and read the last couple pages) - great work for sure.

Um one “tip” on the burpees - Focus on keeping your core TIGHT when going from the squat to the pushup (especially during the pushup - dont let your back sag). Just concentrate on this, I find that if I focus on just the one part of the burpee that is giving me grief (whichever part that is, it differs for me all the time depending on my previous workout)after about 20 reps I get it engrained a bit better & could do it with out much thought after that… Hope this helps ya some! Love seeing burpees in someone elses workout log

Thanks Native, for my tabatas I don’t do the burpees with the push-up, but right after I hurt my back, I told myself the same thing you just said: keep my core tight! I haven’t done burpee tabatas in so long that I forgot that I really I have to keep form good, but I was just thinking of getting a lot in for a good workout.

So yes, I’m kicking myself right now for not remembering to keep my core tight.

Leg workout was pretty disasterous/catastrophic at the same time
Quads were easy to work with my hurt back, hamstrings were a different story though.

Front Squat
95 x 5
145 x 4 PR

Got a PR on the squats, but I was hoping for 2 low rep sets, and 2 high rep sets. However, I couldn’t go on with that, back didn’t agree.

Hack Squat
180 x 15
270 x 15 x 2 Massive PR

First time I put 6 plates on, and for high reps? Sexy

Leg Extension
150 x 13 PR
150 x 14 +1 rep PR from like, a minute ago? :stuck_out_tongue:
160 x 9 New PR I guess

My quads are coming in along nicely, so that’s my motivation for the PRs I got

Iso Leg Press
2 plates per leg x 12
4 plates per leg x 12 x 2

Single Leg DLs
Left Leg 25s x 12
Right Leg 20s x 5 :frowning:
Anything with the right side of my lower half hurts my back, apparently.

Prone leg curl
60 x 20
65 x 15
65 x 18

I had to put a plate on my back to keep my lower back down. My enthusiasm went downsouth here lol

Walking lunges on incline on treadmill
The incline I used varied from 15-21 degrees.
Total of 12 minutes

Adduction machine
50 x 15 x 2
60 x 11

6 sets of calves done between some sets

3 sets of Tabatas on the rower machine

Eats:
Oatmeal, 40g PP, 1/2 milk
PP shake in water
Burrito bowl from chipotle

Yet to come:
Sausage and kale stew, 2 slices of whole wheat bread
PB and Jelly Crepe

The other day I noticed that I’m almost to the end of this log. Then I contemplated what my new log will be titled, what the focus will be, etc. But I also questioned whether I should even start a new log.

And then I saw the total views my log has for the first time ever, and I didn’t know that it was that high, since I never paid attention to it. I thought that the views this log got will be a big enough push to have a second log.

Finally however, I decided that this will be my first and last log on TN. It’s just, I come to PW a lot and it just, brings me down. I feel like every time I log, I should add an apology to the end of everything. I feel like I have to apologize because I don’t train this way, or I got a PR, or I’m dropping weight. This journal has had a few ups-and-downs with those things, and I don’t really want another 45 pages of it.

So just letting that out here, before I forget. I’m thinking of making a thread in Performance sometime in February, but I’ll cross that bridge when I get to it.

G’night.

Ugh…

ok first…

  1. YOU are YOU and only YOU are YOU. So if you decide that today is a good day to go outside and shit on the street then only YOU should care whether YOU did a good job or not…

  2. Whether you want to cut body fat down or grow yourself to look like a Mac truck is all up to you…its how you go about it, and by THIS I mean finish the job…that matters…THIS is what makes you POWERFUL

  3. All of the goals in these logs change over time. At some point you want to be strong at some point you want to be lean, at some point you want to have glutes that you can crack a walnut off of yet still make Betty Boop look silly… thats life, and it changes daily, and that how it is ment to be…as long as youGO FOR IT…THAT is what counts

you sounds so down right now…dont be down…you are a POWERFULL WOMAN

Nikki: I’m sorry to read that you are not presently planning to keep a second log here at PW. Of course, I hope you change your mind. I enjoy reading your log, and I steal inspiration and motivation from it all the time. As I have said before, I feel your enthusiasm and your intensity for your training, and I think it’s great.

Personally, I like that this forum isn’t just a rah rah cheerleading kinda place, but a place where experiences and training ideas are shared. YOu don’t have to follow the advice that you are given and you don’t have to defend your training. I don’t think anyone cares. I do think everyone means to be helpful.

But, if logging here is a distraction or a “downer” for you, than I agree you shouldn’t. Preparing for your first show is stressful and demanding enough. YOu must do what is best for you. But, you have to promise to stop in on occasion and keep us posted on your progress. I’m really routing for you, and I’m disappointed I won’t get to follow your progress on a day to day basis.

Keep killing it okay? All the best.

awww! cupcake!

I, for one, really enjoy your journal and I look forward to reading it and following you on your journey of complete and total kickass every week. And FWIW, i don’t train in any PLing style and I luuuurv high volume too. In fact I come here to get inspired so that I can hit my workouts full on, turbo charged Nikki-style! So I think you really do have a lot of sisters in arms here, thus no apologies needed, EVER.

Anyways, like coyote said, whatever you decide, do it for YOU. And def keep us in the loop if you do start a log somewhere else - i need my Nikki fix!! Otherwise missy, I look forward to log #2 and more fucking awesomeness

??? say it aint so

Hmm well you definetly have to make the best decision for you and only you. So if you need to be done keeping a log here for a while then PW will still be here if & when you decide to come back - if you leave that is… Which I am against by the way - just sayin’ it out loud.

You guys are hella sweet.

Sorry for the vent, maybe I’m just stressed.
I know that there are lots of people here who support me, it just hurts to think that my training disappoints a few. But maybe that’s not my fault.

Ugh, I guess now will be a good time to start thinking of the title for my next log…
And I have to try to be really creative, since this log’s name is B-O-R-I-N-G.

yeah girl i so need my nikki fix too!!!

you rock it day in and day out.

I haven’t been paying attention. So who is “disappointed”? Offer them a steaming hot mug of Go Fuck Yourself.

Hmmm, next log title…how about Double Chocolate Espresso?
Chocolate…rich color, tasty and melts in your mouth (hmmm)
Espresso…embodies your high energy level. And it has a concentration of the good stuff in a little package. Make it a double espresso because it’s you.

Thanks deja, you sexy beast you.

Today I met with an awesome female competitor in my gym. I’ve seen her train a few times, she’s absolutely beastly, with an amazing body. Watching her train always made me work harder. But I haven’t talked to her until today. It was like meeting a celebrity haha

So we got to talking, and she tells me that I’m an inspiration for my weight loss and my training. Which was awesome, being told by your inspiration that you’re an inspiration. So she wants to work with me and get me ready to compete with her in September. She says that because I’m short, I should aim to compete around 5% BF. Gah, stupid height ruins me again.
But I’m excited, and that short 15-minute exchange meant a lot to me.

So, done babbling, on to my back and shoulder workout.

I don’t care anymore, I should know better than to let my vibes get to me. With my age and job, these situations come with the territory.

Ha, I love that title.
I guess I shouldn’t waste my brain power thinking of a new log title, I’m not nearly as creative as Double Chocolate Espresso anyway.

Thank you
I haven’t done them in forever, so I thought my 1 RM was around 75. This made me happy

Slow moment, I also did 20 minutes SS cardio (half on stairmill, half on elliptical because back was hurting)
Did another 6 sets of calves too.

umm that would most likely be from a hospital bed. i’m smelling sabotage! lol

but yeah. no way in hell you’re gonna be 5%. or want to be for that matter.
