Nikki's Workout Log

Complexes <3

What are you deloading or something or taking some time off?

I am doing that shit, lower back is fried, shoulder is fried…taking like 4 days off…thank God for work or I’d be bored out of my mind too.

Complexes looked fun.

Yeah, those complexes are great! I’ll have to steal them.

I’m in the same boat re: taking time off. I hate it. It’s amazing how much training affects my moods. I haven’t done lower body work in a week and I feel like shit. Mental anguish i tell ya.

Gee, so much complex love <3

PCH, that vid is awesome. That’s exactly how people think. Meanwhile those cookies are looking good :stuck_out_tongue:

Yeah Austin, deloading. I took like 4 days off before I lost my mind and decided to do cardio.

Lol I actually cried one night Maschy. I have no idea what the hell I was crying for, but I just sat there and cried. Then I was better 20 minutes later. I figured that it was time to train somehow.

Erm, I’m still thinking of a complex to do today. I can’t wait though, I have a good feeling about this

In diet world, I changed my approach, for the better I believe.
I was doing low carb which is so stupid to do this far out from comp. I guess, so typical, that I wanted to lose the weight quickest, regardless of it being water weight or whatever, so low carb was my go-to. The lowest I got down to on the low carb was 144. Then I got some sense and added carbs back in and just doing old fashioned cals in v cals out, still healthy choices of course, and now I weigh 145.5.
Technically, the scale went “up”, but my time of month just left (so that is about 3.5 pounds less than a few days ago) and considering that I’m holding more water than the low-carb Nikki, I feel pretty good about that.

Y’know, just for anyone who gives a crap about my diet.

Interesting. When I diet I tend to lose a stack of weight on week 1 (6-7lbs) and then stall immediately. I did the V-Diet a while back. I lost 6lbs on the first week and only 1lb a week thereafter. As soon as I moved to the transition week (where you’re still on shakes, but on one healthy solid meal per day) I put 3lbs back on. It drove me nuts. I know in my head that 3lbs of the first week loss was water, and those were the pounds that went back on, but it felt like I’d suffered for three weeks for nothing.

Diets have that kind of trend. Right now, calorie counting is working for me.
V-Diet is low carb right? If so, that’s why I stopped low carb, well among other reasons. Because as soon as you change something in your diet, then the weight is back. It’s not worth the stress.
Doing low carb way before comp was a rookie mistake, I’ll fess up to that lol

Cardio today was a bodyweight complex
12 is the magic number of reps for each exercise, with <2 minutes rest.

Jump Tucks (squat with explosive jump)
Spiderman Push Ups
Jumping Lunges
Burpees
Alternating Push-Up Plank
Mountain Climbers

Did the complex 5 times.

What comp are you planning on? Seen it mentioned a few times but I must have missed the announcement.

I’m getting ready for a Figure competition in July
I’ll send you an invite

i absolutely love complexes. A huge fan of the results they bring, check out Dan john’s stuff for some killers, and www.istvanjavorek.com for the inventor of them and his compilation!

i love Alwyn Cosgrove’s Evil 8. A great warmup, and a good workout once you up the weight for some epoc

Are you feeling better from the deload?

Very cool, can’t wait.

There was a figure competition going on in the same hotel as my comp last weekend, I’ve never seen people so happy to eat a cheeseburger. Everyone I met walking around was real cool, didn’t have enough time to check out the comp though

I approve of calorie counting, especially for bulking up :).

Thanks Timmy, I have a lot of those BB complexes bookmarked that I’ll do when I get back in the gym. I just did stuff that I can do at home.

Yes Alpha, thank you, I feel stellar

Chyea, that’ll be me with a Whopper as soon as I get off the stage :stuck_out_tongue:
I saw one competitor on Youtube who went to Arby’s for a burger, McDonalds for fries and somewhere else for a shake. I just found that amusing haha

Sadly counting calories to cut isn’t as fun as bulking.
But luckily I get my joy from visiting your log k-man, to see all the goodies you eat :stuck_out_tongue:

Taking the day off today. Just planning my week in the gym for this week, and my calorie ratios.
Tomorrow is Ultimate Frisbee, I can hardly contain my excitement <3

I seriously get tired reading your log. I saw a commercial for the Easy Tone shirt the other day! Didn’t know they made pants too. I actually thought about trying the shirt…then I saw the cost…

Do you think they’re going to make Easy Tone bras? To keep your boobs perky?

Hey I wanna commend you for working on a figure competition! That is an awesome goal and I wish you the best of luck. And yay for following a diet that is right for you! I personally think low carb has benefits but also seems to be the “miracle, next best thing” thing of a bob. Keep on tooting. =)

Good move on the diet. I think you’re right re: low carbs this far out.

A competition in July sounds awesome! That should give you plenty of time to get where you want to be. I won’t lie, I’m fascinated by the process of competing in BB or figure. I imagine you want to put on muscle right now, so maybe the upped carbs or even a mini-bulk makes sense?

Er, I hope the pants and clothes bring about the end of EasyTone. But I’m sure they’ll try to find something to make. Maybe EasyTone scarves to cure the double chin.

Thanks Buddha. Low-carb will be back… well, if I’m a good girl hopefully as late as a month before comp.

Actually I don’t want to put on muscle. I really don’t feel like I have that much time to do a bulk and cut before comp, and looking at previous winners in this particular comp, I don’t need the added muscle (I’m doing the Teen division and the winners were more lean than anything). So now I’m just working on cutting, trying to see how my body reacts to everything. I’ll take what I learn from this experience to help me plan accordingly for my next comp, for which I’ll definetely be adding some muscle for.

And talking about diet, the new 40-30-30 plan is the best thing I’ve done not only by weight standards, but mood, how easy it is, how better my body is functioning. This ratio, with some calorie cycling got me down to 143, lower than I was when I did low-carb.
I’ll be starting my new split tomorrow, just worked out the final details this morning.

Today I did Ultimate Frisbee for an hour. My team got creamed… I’m very competitive so this didn’t sit well with me  The guys on the team were trying to blame it on the fact that we had three girls, and the other team had one. It’s actually because they get pressured so easily; as soon as they get the frisbee, they throw it. This results in throwing it to ABSOLUTELY NO ONE or to the opposing team.
But I rocked it, got the team several points, intercepted even more, and at the end of the hour, HR was 177. That definetely wasn’t the highest throughout the game, but it was an awesome workout.
Then had a few minutes to do weights, so I did arms. Did a couple sets of 12 reps of DB curls with 25#. Then Tricep Pushdowns, a couple sets of 12x35.

And I guess that’s my day in a nutshell.

just stopping in Nikki, find the diet talk very interesting…what made you choose Figure over BB? Just curious-I wouldn’t do either…

Oh, I missed the Figure thing!! Good luck with that! I’m sure you’ll rock it!
