Nicotine Preworkout?

Hey Coach,

What’s your opinion on nicotine gums/lozenges as a pre-workout? Nicotine seems to have pretty good stimulatory effects and release adrenaline & dopamine.

I unfortunately can only work out at night time due to work, and have been opting it, instead of a late afternoon coffee. Since nicotine’s half life is only 1-2 hours, it doesn’t keep me awake at night like caffeine does. And then I end the workout with glycine.

Just wondered your thoughts about it or if any of your athletes have used it or not?

The problem is that it is addictive.

And if you use it too often you could even downregulate the dopaminergic and adrenergic receptors.

I’ve used it in the best, especially when dieting down and my energy was low. But only once, maybe twice a week. And not for extended periods of time.
