Terrible news for Steeler fans, Aaron Smith is out for the year with a torn tricep. He is their best defensive end if not arguably the best in football. Their whole run defence starts with him.

DJHT maybe you could explain to me how you tear a tricep in a football game, does your arm twist awkwardly or something?

I hope I’m wrong, but I think we just saw Aaron Smith’s last game. He’s 34, tore a bicep in 07, a rotator cuff in 09, and now the tricep, all on the same arm. By all accounts, there probably won’t be football next year. I can’t see a 36 year old Smith coming back in 2012 after all the injuries he’s had. Even if he does, I’m fairly certain it won’t be in a Steelers jersey.

Hats off to one of the best 3-4 DEs to ever play the game. Pittsburgh’s defense is going to have some serious issues now.

On top of that, Woodley pulled a hammy, and Polamalu has to be dinged up somehow because I’ve never seen him be so mediocre when he was healthy in the past.
I think your right about Smith not playing again if there is so football next year.

Regarding Troy, the dude was nowhere yesterday, I don’t think he made a single tackle. He might hiding an injury like you mentioned or they had him way back in coverage.

When Woodley was out it gave Worilds a chance to play, almost had a sack. Larry Foote made a couple nice plays subbing in the middle for Timmons when he had to move to OLB.

Too bad there isn’t a feature on TV’s where you can pan out and see the whole feild. It would give the fan a better idea as to what the db’s are doing before the snap.

I listen to a lot of NFL talk and people who love the game are always asking for the coach’s view, where you can see all 22 players. The common and fair weather fan (who the NFL is after) want to just watch where the ball goes.

I am like you I love watching the coach’s view so you can see the scheme of the game. We will end up getting that view someday but will probably cost us to see it.
I would both love and hate to have that view available. I would love it because I love the game, and you can’t even SEE the game with the current setup. I would hate it because it would take me 6 fucking hours to get through a Steelers game because I would watch every play 4-5 times.

Same here, that is why the Good Lord almighty gave man a brain. And we invented the greatest thing on earth DVR, he also gave us a perk and put titties on women.

^Some men too.

^ Print that is not a perk, that is Gods sarcastic humor. And for you it would be 6 titties.

Teets my friend. Teets.

DJHT, I couldnt help it.

Go Chargers!! Number one defense in the NFL, but they fumble the ball at least 3 times a game. The defense must hate the offense and special teams for blowing it every game.

I’m getting way way way in front of myself, but won’t it be interesting if we go into week 15 against Pitt w/each losing only 1 game?

But I think we have to run the division just to win it. So week 13 against NE. (beans) should be pretty damn interesting too.
yeah, The AFC east is a solid division. I’m not 100% sold on the NE defense, and the offense is very easy to stop now. Cover the first 12 yards in a zone & stop the run. Boom Pats can’t operate. The pats are tough at home, which makes your chances tough, but as long as Marky Mark doesn’t play like Farve you’ll be fine.

I still think the JETS will run the table in the division. But I’m starting to think Pitt is a charmed team at this point. I don’t see the Pats or teh Jets beating them.

Hell two or three loses in a row and I can see both teams imploding at this point.

Shit I don’t know, but what I DO know is the Superbowl winner is coming out of the AFC this year.

Wow, they just reported that Romo is out with a broken clavicle. He could be done for a significant amount of time.

Cowboys with the number 1 pick AND Cowher next year. Sweet.

favre out with a stress fracture (ankle) also… and romo out 6-8 weeks if not the season they said…

in one weekend i lose both starting qb’s for two fantasy leagues. great.

Dude that sucks, who is your team?

Do we play the Bills? Only way Doogie. Sorry man when I called last night I was going to bed and I was fucking pissed off.

Okay question for the few Cowboys fans on here and hell even Cowboys haters.

Do you go with Kitna for the rest of the year, cause we are not going to playoffs? By the time Romo gets healthy no point in rushing him back for the end of the season.

Do you go with McGee and give the kid some serious playing time?

I say Kitna, from all accounts he’s fighter and guys rally around him, high energy guy. Mind you that gets old after awhile but for a part season sometimes that all it takes.

I can’t see how people are going to hang the dude who missed the block on the play that Romo got creamed. The LB stunted to the inside and the FB went to the outside to get to the flat.

Folks need something to attack I guess. Even if he did miss the assingnment he’s not to blame entirly…is he?

Just missed the trade deadline too.

i’d just rest him up… unless kitna goes on some crazy run (which still might happen, kosar after marino went down) no point in further rushing your pro-bowl qb to come in and get garbage time in the regular season. I’d also start playing dez and your rookies more… with romo down williams is gonna just suck air… i mean cmon it took him a whole season just to get to where he was this year… dez looks like he has promise… seeing that punt return was a thing of beauty…

as far as the full back is concerned wasn’t his job max protect? it seems like he went to the flat too soon…

^ he is also a rookie, mistakes get made. It is part of football, blame the coaching staff for putting a player that is not ready to play out on the field. Bring on the chin, chucky or Foxie.

I’d go with Kitna. He’s nothing amazing, but he’s a good quarterback and if he can manage the offense I think there are plenty of weapons there to do some serious damage.

DJHT, looks like we’re going to be paying a lot of attention to the draft this year!! Can’t wait for 49ers to take Andrew Luck.
