For the record, I don’t give a shit that Rodgers or any QB does it.

Ball PSI isn’t what makes him great.

There is no moral or cultural implications in all this either. Professional Sports never had integrity, not a single one, in any era. “Cheating” in some form or fashion is part of the game. Shit, stealing signs is part of baseball and you know this growing up…
Sure there is Beans. Whether you and I like it or not or whether we think it’s ridiculous or not, a lot of young people look to athletes for guidance. This just solidifies that cheating is okay as long as you’re really good at what you do. Not a great message to send.

That is more of a commentary on our culture than what animals antler spray people put on themselves to suddenly recover from a torn muscle.

It’s like, you’ve just started watching sports in the last 5 days lol.

What is the graduation rate for college athletes? Some of these people can’t speak English, and you’re going to sit there and tell me they qualified for College? lmao.

We have kids on gear in high school, given it by their coach…

Reggie Bush losses his Heisman because he made millions for college football, risked his health and well being, and decided he deserved a fraction of what he earned for people in return. Joe Pa turns the other cheek on his coach butt-fucking small children in the shower, and gets his “wins reinstated”.

Have they even called a travel on Lebron in his entire career?

Please with this. Sports are rife will malcontents doing shady shit to win, over and over and over, since the dawn of time. All that counts is winning. We look the other way all the time because it entertains us, all the while breaking rules every single day of our lives. (I’m sure you all came to a full stop this morning and didn’t go above 65mph on your way in.)

Look, again, IF, and it’s still an IF as of the posting of this post, the Pats dicked with the balls AFTER the ref signed off on them, and not before, then they are pathetic losers who are too obsessed with winning to even act rationally. But even IF that ends up being the case, can we all get off our high horses about this shit please?

Rate the Head Coaching changes:

Bears: Trestman out, John Fox in, A+
Broncos: Fox out, Kubiak in, C
Jets: Ryan out, Todd Bowles in, C
Raiders: Allen/Sparano out, Jack Del Rio in, B+
49ers: Harbaugh out, Tomsula in, D
Falcons: Mike Smith out, TBD

I feel like this is the best move so far in the coach movement area. That D is going to win them games. All they need is a serviceable offense to go 8-8, add in a little bit of talent and they are playoff bound.

I think he does okay, and Carr is legit.

No, it’s just that this is an opportunity to talk about the implication sports has on kids.

No I would not. I think college sports has become a gapping pile of horse shit and the student athlete hypocrisy is laughable.
Ya, and that’s horse shit too. Why do kids take gear? Because Mark McGuire did and he made millions for it.

Again, a whole lot of bullshit. Not for nothing Joe did pass thinking his legacy was destroyed.

A travel in the NBA…

Yes they are and they always will be. That doesn’t mean we can’t use certain instances as a teaching or mentoring tool.
All that counts is winning.
And that’s a shame when it’s applied to every level except professional sports.

So because maybe I did 35 in a 30 this morning I can’t point out bullshit when I see it or expect people to be held accountable for their actions? That’s just plain silly Beans.

This will all blow over once the NFL announces their findings. Just like every other scandal.

No that isn’t what I mean, and I should have mentioned I’m having this conversation in multiple places. They are bleeding together.

My general point is stop holding some to a higher standard than others, and if people refuse, glass houses an all that.

Agree with Beans on the lack of integrity in professional sports, even in college sports.

Behind the scenes, these people really don’t give a flying fuck, so long as the money keep flowing in.

Every team has a “janitor,” someone who cleans up the mess. Not a guy who mops floors or scrubs toilets, but someone knows how to issue damage control with regard to the law or the media if the situation calls for it.

Players are instructed to call him, not their mother or lawyer, at any time of the day or night. Just shut your mouth and let the janitor handle it.

This is as open and blatant as corruption in politics, it’s just seen as acceptable because everyone does it.

Okay, I won’t. The next time game balls are deflated post approval by the officials I’ll make sure and give that organization hell too.

It’s a little short-sighted to blame McGuire or any PED user for kids taking gear.

Kids take gear with the hopes it can take them to that status, where they’re put up on a pedastal and glorified as mythical gods until they’re caught and society can swiftly destroy the legs on said pedastal and enjoy the tumble from grace these superstars encounter.

As much as we love to build our heroes up, we love it more when we get to tear them down.

If you need proof, google DeflateGate, BALCO, Lance Armstrong, etc.

It isn’t even you man. I love your posts, I like your perspective and I know the team you root for is rotten so it isn’t like you’re being a hypocrite. (And it is being alleged there was tampering, we don’t have proof yet.)

Just… Google the amount of stories on ball pressure right now. Then google how much time is devoted to Hollywood… And then think about what we could accomplish if this much effort was put into something productive.

And we accept it in politics too. I’m just as guilty as everyone else too.

You are going to rot in hell for your loose morals, Beans. Your time is coming.

Fuck, where is DBCooper when we need him.

Probably trying to track down the 83 ingredients he needs to make his chili.

lmao…

You know it’s funny, the more this drags on, the more I do see it is a “cultural issue” for us as a nation. It goes well beyond the Pats, their balls and my fandom.

If the superbowl was today I wouldn’t even watch it. And football is the only sport I watch anymore.

I’m disgusted. With the team, with the media, with the league, with the fans (including myself), with the players, with all of it.

I, no we, we care way too much about sports.

I’ve blown off about 3-4 days of real work this week working on Pinewood Derby cars for me and my boy. With all the shit I bought tool-wise and the time, it would have been cheaper to buy the kid a real car. Lol.

To me that isn’t about sports. It’s about hanging out with your kids.

I spent over $500 in two weeks last July going shooting with my Boy while on vacation.

Yah, the time with the boy has been really awesome. But I still also can’t deny I really, really want to win. Hehe.
