Saint's Williams ordering bounty hits audio...

This is an audio of Greg Williams demanding injuring players. He talks about ‘affecting the head’ in a pile. Getting players on the side line and targeting Crabtree’s ACL…Wow! Frank Gore’s head…It’s amazing. He’s busted. I don’t think he’ll ever coach NFL football again. If we have this, imagine what Goodell has…

Busted, hardcore. He said this shit with a camera in the room…Idiot.

Can’t take the heat, get out of the kitchen.

What’s the problem???

Most people cant handle the truth.

^ Yeah…I’m not sure either but I have a feeling that a lot of non-athletes are going to have a huge problem with this and a lot of athletes/former athletes aren’t going to find it to be not too big of a deal.

EDIT: Before I get my ass flamed for stating that I didn’t think it was a big deal, let it be known that I did not actually hear the audio part about taking out Crabtree’s acl. And yes regarding that I do agree that that is completely wrong. Personally that alone is banned worthy. You can’t purposely injur players especially targeting areas that could end carrers and handicap them.

He only crossed the line with the money issue, IMO. I still think he is a smug prick though.

Targeting a specific man’s ACL? Instructions on causing head trauma? Usually that’s frowned upon in any sport. I guess you lot didn’t listen to the audio. There’s a reason this guy is likely to get band for life.
If you think it’s ok seek to deliberately cause severe injury to another player, then the problem is you.
This audio is just some of the evidence of the fact that Williams was actually seeking to injust other players, not deliver hard hits. The instructions, many of them were to hurt people on the side lines, to target heads and ankles in the pile after whistles.
Sorry, that’s not ‘just playin’ football’
If that’s just the way it was, the Saints would not be getting their asses handed to them right now.

I thought he crossed the line with the whole targeting people specifically to injure.

I am thinking he may never stand on another NFL sideline.

Not a 49er’s fan I take it?

Go Bears!!

I always figured its a brutal sport.

If you don’t want to get hurt - play 9 ball like me.

I disagree. This is a disgrace to sport. Playing hard and tough is 3000 miles away from talking about purposefully injuring someones head and knee in ways that are completely and entirely outside the rules of the sport.

It’s cheating, on top of the million other ethical issues outside of the sporting world.

In all fairness I cannot see video and have not seen video, only heard a few comments on radio.

If he was targeting injured players etc than yes its brutal and a little much, but that goes on in the NFL all the time. Again this is without me seeing video

What happened to “these guys are gladiators and Warriors”. We all want brutal hits but not for anyone to get hurt. It definately isn’t a gentlemen’s sport.

Hard hits are one thing, taking out someone head and twisting ankles in the pile trying to tear someones ACL is something else.

In boxing, its acceptable to punch someone in the head while they are standing. It is not okay to do it while they are on the ground. EVEN though we all like to see knock outs.

The video is just audio, but it proves he was targeting players to injure. He was giving specific instructions. He was telling them to target heads, ankles and ACLs. If your talking about which body parts to injure, your not talking about football, you’re talking about bodily injury.
I posted it because I was surprised how blatant he was about it.

Legal hits between the lines and whistle is one thing. Directly targeting body parts and players on the side line, is a little illegal.

If we wanted blood, we would have never let them strap on a helmet. There was a time where football was almost made illegal because of the number of deaths.

I like the sport but I am not a savage. If I want to see brutality for the sake of brutality, I’ll watch the ‘Faces of Death’ series.

But you can rake the gloves, rabbit punch and so so many other ways to work an angle. We can do analogies and comparisons for days but the bottom line remains - its a sport of warriors and you can’t be upset about tactics.

If these guys don’t want to get hurt, they shouldn’t play.

Even in boxing your not allow to kill the other guy. Most of the ‘knock outs’ are tko’s
