I agree but they are in a tough division.

^WTF!!! What am I to do about Witten this week? Is he going to go & catch passes or stay in and block for Father Time? He killed me last week. Fuckin’ country bumpkin.

You know what, he is from my home town Elizabethton Tennessee. My aunt actually almost drove him off the road and got him to sign a bunch of jersey’s and hats for me a few years ago. Kitna is going to throw to the WR, Romo thows to Witten. I wouldnt start him, who is your back up?

I didn’t know what to think when I first read that…I was maybe slightly offended at the insinuation that we have become that sad as a fanbase(when in reality I think we are actually a pretty good ā€˜away’ crowd, sure we’ll talk some shit but I’ve seen NUMEROUS pitt fans have beers bought for them after a round of drunken bantering). On the other hand, the thought that it may even have the slightest bit of truth at it’s origin made me want to go punch the guy who maybe did it for sullying said good reputation.[/quote]

I’ve been to one game at Browns stadium, in full Steeler gear, and didn’t have any problems other than some drunken douche tapping me on the shoulder and then sticking his middle finger 6 inches from my face. The rest of the Browns fans were giving me shit, but in a good-natured way. I actually enjoyed the ribbing. It was fun.

I was also with my wife at the time, also in full Steeler gear, and nobody said a word to her. Thankfully, because that would have set me off.

The only time I came close to being a bad fan was after the 07 playoff loss to the Jaguars. I was still reeling after the Jags’ GW FG and saw a group of Jags fans standing around smiling on my way out of the stadium. I briefly considered doing something violent and stupid, but then regained my composure and congratulated them on the W.

The way I figure it, if the players on the field can get along, there is no reason for there to be any animosity amongst the fans of competing teams. It’s ridiculous.

The players are not drunk. That is what messes up the equation, otherwise I agree.

^Perfectly said.

I’m originally from Balt. & let me tell you they are the worst fans in all the NFL. & all they wanna do is fight.

DJ, I’ll most likely go w/Keller this Sun.

I would, Witten has not scored a lot of TD’s this year either.

Nike was just awarded the uni’s starting in 2012. What’d ya think?

I like that, one of the things I think the Cowboys will never do again is change their uni’s.

I like the design but the pants look weird, they look like really tight hockey pants.

deadspin.com/.../the-bottom-100-the-worst-players-in-nfl-history-part-1

The bottom 100, this is more interesting to me than the top 100.

Some players I was happy to see on the list.

  1. Erik Mcmillan
  2. Troy Williamson
  3. Dave Brown
  4. Charles Rogers
  5. Akili Smith
  6. Otis Smith
  7. Chris Weinke
  8. Tony Mandarich
  9. Browning Nagle
  10. Heath Schuler
  11. Brian Bosworth
  12. Cedric Jones
  13. Freddie Mitchell
  14. Vernon Gholston
  15. Jamarcus Russell
  16. Babe Lafenburg

Number 1 was Rusty Lisch, I was 5 - 9 yeard old when he played, dont know him

A picture of my humble shrine…I do love my team. I have about sixty or seventy hats as well, jerseys I keep in the closet. The clock in the middle my boy made for me when he was a wee lad. The framed license plate in the top left corner is signed by Barry Foster, some old lady my mom knew remembered my mom was a Steeler fan and found it at a church bazzar for a buck and gave it to her lol.

I have to hope last week was just a case of Tom Brady disease. It was encouraging to read that the team practiced in full pads this week to mix it up(ala Cowboys). Also Big Ben and Ward vowed to take a more active leadership role for the rest of the season.

It’s just words but by this point in the season it’s all mental and it can turn a season…and my stomach when the cliche’s start to flow lol. If the o-line wasen’t so banged up I would be more hopefull for Pittsburgh.

bond james bond -

I have that EXACT yellow pennant (top center) from when I was just a pup in the 70’s! LOL.

Is that a Flyers jersey I spy? You’re a good man, sir.

Thats a signed Jeff Carter. I was at his parents house next door having a beer when he phoned them about his new contract. Smiles all around that night lol. The training and dedication he put’s into his sport is amazing, I got to see first hand how hard he works at it.

I’ve had that pennant since forever, probably IS from the seventies.

I was watching pre-game last night & swore I saw Waterbury down on the field. I wonder if anyone can confirm this?

lol Fuck the Flyers.

But let’s take that into the NHL thread.

If you were Favre, would you just walk away if you didn’t come out with a W this weekend?

He has to be in so much pain, his quality of life is going to be dreadful, and playing any more games this seasons will just make his injuries exponentially worse. I’d hang it up if I were him (after a loss this weekend).

^ No I would not, biggest regret of my life was not trying to get to the next level in Football. I really think Favre understands this, I see it all the time in non-sport related fields. People who do not want to retire cause they just dont have the mentality to quit. Personally Favre cracks me up, but maybe it is a southern thing.
