Excellent way to welcome new comers to the site!
I love training, I dont chase the bulk so much as I am a surfer and need to stay lean for that but the gym is my home away from home. there is nothing like staying fit, keeping the weight down and know which suppliments to use, the internet should be full of sites like this offering valuable information to help people reach their goals, awesome job guys!
well that me see ya around on T-Nation
I wouldn’t say I’m a beginner in weight training as I played football in high school, but being young then was tough on form. We didn’t have a strength coach, just the coaching staff who didn’t always have feedback for us. That said, I am new to doing lifts with correct form (e.g. parallel or better squats - this was not always enforced).
I’m a college baseball player, and have heard conflicting information about DB bench exercises. Our strength coaches here insist on touching the weights to our shoulders on the way down for full ROM, which I completely understand; it’s important to get a full ROM. My question is, since I’m a baseball player, how bad is this for the rotator cuff?
Up until this point, I’ve heard that baseball players (P’s and OF’s especially) shouldn’t use full ROM on this because of harsh strain to the rotator cuff muscles; I’ve heard a little lower than making a 90 degree angle with your elbows. I’m looking for some good insight on this, because I feel that I’ve lost something on my throws from the outfield since starting doing bench this way.
If anyone has any links for me to check out, that would be greatly appreciated.
Since I’m more than likely going to have to continue doing it this way, any advice for some other rotator cuff exercises to help strengthen the muscles?
Thanks a lot for your help; I’ve been reading this site for a couple months and appreciate the feedback you guys give…even to guys like EB3
Hello everyone,
I have been a member here for some time now but decided to stop lurking around and start posting some. I am a junior studying exercise physiology with a minor in nutrition.
I have been lifting for about 4 years now. I don’t play any sports at the collegiate levels, but I am interested in basketball, football, cycling, and track and field. Feel free to chat about any sport with me though.
Thats all I got for now. I’ve learned (and continue to) so much from this website, I hope I can offer some advice of my own whenever possible.
hey all.
like many others i have been a long time stalker, but after applying techniques learned from this site i figured it’s probs 'bout time i joined…
so i’ve been lifting for about 18 months total, jumbled up in the midst of some boxing, but now i’m strictly lifting… and working out with a passion. i just graduated yr 12, and am tryin to get started on a personal training career…so, yeah, i’m proud to be a part of this extensive site! thank you!
My friend has been inspiring me join this community for about a year so. After reading countless articles that seem to be very informative and beneficial, I decided to take the plunge.
Just wanted to say hello to the community of T-Nation.
finally joining in as well, after several months of lurking about. 35, gotten somewhat out of shape, and am turning things around so I’ll be in better shape this time next year than I was at 30.
I’m a newcomer myself…can’t believe I didn’t know about this site til now!
Funny how much time I’ve been spending on the site reading articles and the forums! Such a wealth of information and experiences!

Hey everyone, I lurked for a month and then joined. This site looks great!
I’ve been in and out of training for the last 3 years and right now I’m very out of shape. I got back to the gym last December and I’m amassing a great deal of info from the site.
Hey everyone! I have been sitting back just reading, but now think I am gonna start posting. Right now I am just waiting for my back injury to heal, and back to lifting/fighting it is!
I’m a new guy here. Always been dedicated to fitness and have now decided I’d like to gain some muscle. Gonna be hard work, but hopefully I’ll have some fun.
Nice introduction. I’d remove the extra r in approrpriate though. Doesn’t belong on a site as professional as this;).
Hope to be learning a lot of new things.
Hi everyone! My husband has been on this site for a long while now and I’ve been reading, listening to him trying to get me involved. It’s taken me a bit of time to get my courage up and register and really start training and changing my perspective. I’m currently 7 months pregnant and anticipating anxiously getting back in shape one she’s out!
I’ve always been thin, but want to work more on fitness and health. I love how supportive a network this is and look forward to learning a lot and getting the results I long for. Thanks!
