New to T-Nation?

Hi guys. I decided to join here whenever I heard alot of people talking about this place over at the other place where I do dedicate alot of my time to. Hope to get to know some guys here and hope to learn alot of good things along the way.

Hello, I am new at T-Nation. I?m just going to introduce myself:
My training started about three years ago, when I tried to lose some weight. (I was a fat child  )
This was also the time I started to read about training theory and nutrition. This is also what I?m going to study.
How I got to T-Nation?
I think it was, cause on nearly every German BB Board, there are links to articles from T-Nation. So, why not get the infos first hand?

I’m really knew to T-Nation how the concept of this webiste, but I really like it and had a question. IS it normal for all the big guys to make fun of us smaller guys in the gym?

fuck yeah!!wow i lvoe T-Nation.where else can i find free advice from testosterone iron pumping, muscle building warriors with attitude???no where else!!man at least here its for real, no bullshit.

I lvoe it already and having read a few threads and laughed my ass off and after gone for an intense workout in my room, i gotta say that im here to stay.nice too meet ya all

I am new to T-Nation and hoping to learn alot. I was turned on to it from a friend and interested in learning more from the experts. I own a personal training studio and admittedly fell behind the times while running the business which has grown from just myself in a crappy basement to 5 trainers in the best building in my town.

I am also expanding into more group functional training and athlete performance stuff. I really enjoy reading mike boyles stuff and watching his dvds and was hoping to get some tips from people like minded.

my new space is long but narrow and have questions as to what is best equipment to put into this type of space I have been working with perform better and just wanted some other objective points of view. I have many questions so I’ll just leave it at that for now. if anyone knows a better place to post this let me know not getting anything here.

I just joined today and must say this site rules all the information really helps and the writers know what there talking about and i feel like i have learnt alot from reading there stuff thank you T-Nation

Ok Here I Come, I am new to the site for comments, because if you read anything on any site you will quickly learn you need to listen read, listen re-read, listen, look between the lines, discern, read, read and RE-READ. If you don?t understand Boolean search you probably have not done your home work. If you have not paid for any research reading material you have not done your best to do homework. The best is not always the cheapest and rarely free.

I have spent over 260 hrs reading body fitness minded sites as a newbie and have come to some conclusions. If you read you will hear a lot of voices begging very loud to be heard, there is a lot of money at stake. If you look long and intelligently you will learn that there are only a handful of people that are qualified or thoughtful enough to be giving advice.

Having said that, there is no way to say that you should not read everything because in every thread there is one person that is often off topic saying something that is truly helpful and not trying to sell you something.

From all of these sites I have landed on one, T-Nation a very good site, and not an infomercial, there are other good sites but these guys are on top of things. Read around on others, but check their advice here and with the other materials by their writers. You will find a lot of copy paste from T-Nation. T-Nation has good advice and very good writers that participate in other places but T-Nation is an information hub for discussion and not boastful, with the best talent around.

So don?t be discouraged if you hear the same thing repeated, but find the original source. Use your footnotes and references. I have found the guys sharp and rarely do I need go any other place for discussion. I don?t want anyone to think I have read to the end of internet because research is not a list of ?do?s? and ?don?ts? ?I do it this way and you should too? or ?your screwing up? or a simple prick, it is a lifestyle of work and learning.

Before a decision to self medicate, you really need to be knowledgeable about your medication. I am happy the T-Nation guys do what they do and have spent the time to learn how articulate simply enough for me to understand. The last thing I know for sure is that I have more questions and need to research more often.

It is all here on T-Nation and reference sites and if you go find it then these guys will let you have what you earned. I hope we all remember whose strong shoulder we stand on. I personal am not self made??Happy reading and thank you T-Nation for your strong shoulders.

I’m new too…

YAAAAAAAY

Howdy all,
I recently found this site in a search to get in better shape. Guess I should give you my stats.

Age:16
Height:5’10
Weight:155
Body Fat:7%

Any way that someone tell me where to start at in this site. I’ve tried but I just got to confused. I don’t understand much about body building and powerlifting. Can’t wait to be better.

Hey All

Been lurkin for awhile lotso interestin info .

Hello Hello

Well dammit. I’ve been lifting about a year and my only regret is not having found this site sooner. I’ve bounced around the web finding the rare gem of an article now and again…imagine my delight when I discovered that all my favorite columnists are contributing here! Can’t get better than that!

To all you poppin’ fresh noobs out there, here’s a slightly inspirational thought for yas: When I started lifting 1 yr ago, I weighed 168 lbs @ 18% bodyfat. I’m 6’1". Yeah. Beanpole. I’m currently 205 @ 9% bodyfat. That’s a loss of 11 lbs. of fat and a gain of 48 lbs. of lean mass. 100% naturally. I’m not possessing of what you might term “exceptional genetics” either.

Eat right, chomp down those BCAAs and you’ll do fine. Oh yeah, and read T-Nation. This site kicks ass!

hey guys , im new to this website and so far its one of the best i have seen…

i currently just started the anabolic diet and i went shopping 2 day and i need ur guys expertise on the products I purchased. I obviously did the main courses . The steaks , chicken , fish , bacon , cheese , and olive oil. Now my questions are on the things I got to spice up the diet a lil bit.

Walden Farms - Hony Dijon
Walden Farms - CHocolate syrup
Hood Milk
Cream CHese
Bacon Rach dressing
Half and Half
Smart Balance butter spread
Splenda
Carb free Syrup and Coco syrup
Carb Masters Yugert ? Kroger brand

my real question here is the some of the ingredients to these things include ingredients im afraid might effect the insulin effect and take me out of ketosis…

such as

Sorbitol
Xanthan Gum
Sucrakise
Prrpylen Glycol
Sucralose
Cellulose Gum
Citric Acid

I mean a lot of these are in splenda , the Walden Farms products which are so popular , and so forth…

my question is most these bottles say sugar free and are supported by the Diabetes foundations . However would these serve our purpose for the Keto- or Anabolic diet…???

can any1 answer this in here or do i need to make a new thread?

This is a really cool looking site. Very unique and I’m glad I found it.

Hello folks,

New to T nation and glad to be here!

I post a fair bit on bb.com, but each time I would search for a specific question about what ever, someone would always have a link to a t nation article, so i figured I’d come to the source!

I’ve been training since Aug 06, and before that I was in the weight loss mode. I went from 211lbs to 144lbs in around a year. Now I’m trying to gain lean mass and work on getting stronger on my big lifts. Currently 154lbs (just got back from a 3 month trip on the road) gotta lose the added extra pounds. I’m Big fan of eating clean!

I look forward to learning from the best.

K, already posted but don’t think it went…sorry if it did.

New here to T-Nation. Just thought I’d say hi and introduce myself:)

I’m 32 and just getting back into the weights again. Gave it up 10 yrs ago when I got busy with martial arts and a few other interests. I’d like that tight, ripped look that I used to have.

Hoping to meet a few people along the way for a little motivation and inspiration.

Anyhow, that’s me…

Hey anyone out there from the northern burbs of Detroit. I work out alone at Lifetime, and was wondering if anyone was also a member.

I like the feature of this site.hope this a site with cool people on here.

“bodybuilding’s think tank”?

Wow, if that isn’t an oxymoron, nothing is.

Howdy, All…
To sound like a broken record, 'New Poster here…" LOL. Actually I am very familiar with this site, but have never had the desire to join/post, but since my wife has moved here from the F-Heit site, I thought I would take the plunge too.

Just a quick Bio. I’m 47, 5’11", 175lbs. I’ve been lifting fairly steady for ~5 yrs but have had some set-backs. 2 yrs ago I tore out my shoulder (only thing holding it together was the muscles)and Jan. '06 had it repaired (had a good w/o the day of my surgery, tho! Had to do something cuz I couldn’t eat or drink.)

Slow to get back to serious lifting, but was on the right track. Then in Oct. I got seriously burned on left arm with high pressure steam… Another set-back. :frowning: Then I was going thru a real *^%$# of a time with depression, no interest in sex, no motivation, etc., and found out I was Low Low Test., so I’m giving myself shots for that. In Jan. this year I had a Septoplasty done so I could breathe thru the nose (something I’m kinda partial to) so another 6 wks off.

Short story long, I hope to get back into the gym and start posting some real improvement. My goal isn’t to be Jay Cutler (not the right genetics) but I do intend to gain mass and strength. I just need to determine where I’m at so I know where to go.

Thanks for letting me ramble and I look forward to comments and, yes, even criticisms, I’ll probably be in the ‘Over 35’ forum, since I’m an old duffer. LOL
