I didn’t see a Newbie Intro thread, so I thought I might as well just post in here and say hey. I’m not new to the gym or training, but really liked what I saw at this site and wanted to join.

Im new. ![]()
Looking forward to learn as much as possible
Hey everyone! New to the site but I think from the little I’ve read I’m going to like coming here and getting informed.
I ready to turn 25 and just saw a recent pic of myself and I gotta say, the last two years of college killed me. I played college football/baseball for 2.5 years and my frame was pretty good and I was very happy with it. Considering I was training hard all that time I could really eat, drink whatever I wanted. But since I got hurt and gave up the college game, I haven’t trained how I should and I have added extra pounds due to it. The best shape of my life I was around 245, now I’m around 280 and I can still run a mile in 9 minutes but everything else sucks
I’m 6’0 and I believe my body fat is 30%. I still do have a lot of muscle (big legs and shoulders/neck/chest) but my gut isn’t what it used to be.
Some of my goals are to cut my gut down and bring back the tone I had. I’d also love to get back down to 240 again. I felt that is the best I looked in my life.
Looking for a good workout routine as well as some good suppliments that will help cut me up.
I’m new…
I’m new. Looking forward to learning more about my passion.
Im brand new to this I just wanted to say wassup 2every one and thanx in advance
Hey guys,
I’ve been lurking for a few weeks now and decided to take the plunge. I’m fairly new to weight lifting, though I’ve read a ton of stuff on this site and other books. But now it’s time to put this stuff to work!
I’m doing “Fat to Fire” and I just ordered the HRX and some protein.
Thank you for being here and I look forward to getting to know as many of you as I can.
Did some reading and decided to register.
I’ve been lifting for a year, and have a defined build. Started with a trainer who had me doing high reps at low weight… even though she knew my goal was to bulk up. I’ve since realized that that’s not the way to bulk up and have lowered reps and upped the weight. I’ve been taking shakes the whole time (though I have change brands/types several times), and have been eating a lot(mostly good). I have yet to gain any weight, but I guess some of the fat that I did have turned into muscle.
25 5’5" 135lbs… and have been for the past 7 years.
Also trying to move from cable machines to strictly free weights, but the change in the amount I can actually lift make it sorta discouraging.
i’ve read most of the articles on your website. i’m just registering now though. definately great authors that are extremely knowledgable. it’s good to see a collection of minds in a collaboration to better the average lifter and experienced alike.
i’m 19, my name is scott, but everyone calls me rice.
Brand new as well I am excited with all of the info i have allready read
Hello,
New here also. Have done alot of reading, but is confusing as I have never lifted in my life. I am 54 and wanted to ask some questions, as some of them I haven’t been able to find in the forums. Is it ok to post here what I need help with??
Thanks!
I only 17 5’9 140lbs and can bench 185 squat 410 and powerclean…well who gives a fuck…and i can curl 150 wooooo can touch that im a wrestler noone can touch me…just think what would happen if someone tried to fuckin wit this skinny kid haha…damn ima fuckin G
Like everyone else befor me I also am new. I am working out with a friend who is in amazing condition and thanks to him so will I at some point. I was 250lbs and 5’8", 33 yrs old, lost 20 lbs so far and still working hard. Great site lots of funny stuff thanks for the motivation
I also recently joined. The articles and many posts are very helpful.
I’m 35, 5’9 191# and working on getting muscles up and bodyfat down. Long ago I was in cross-country and track, but over the years let the computer job (aka sit on my ass all day) and constant sugar fixes getting the better of me.
I’ve got free weights, and I lift/push/shove them in various weights. I’ve already seen some great progress as regards fitness, plus cholesterol and pre-diabetes problems are reversing themselves. I feel great and have a long way to go, at least I’m having fun.
Take it easy.
new here, as well.
i have been reading quite a bit, and it is a lot to absorb, for sure.
i am 31, 5’8", 155… getting more serious in the gym. family had a history of physical problems, so i figured i would like to be around to watch my kids grow, and got my ass back in the gym.
my wife is currently deployed to Iraq, but will be home in a month or so… she looks incredible, and i just wanted to be able to keep up…
anyway, thanks for having a site like this, for us newbies…

I am similiar to this guy. I am also 31. I am about 5’ 10" 150 lbs.
If there is anyone that can help me gain weight i would really appreciate it. Alot of people just tell me to eat. But I already do that. I am a pig. I lifted for a year before and gained about 15 lbs of solid muscle when I was 21. After that, I only seemed to get stronger not any bigger.
If there is anyone in here that was pretty strong at a very light weight and figured out how to pack on the mass, let me know. I’m looking to gain 40 lbs of solid muscle.
I should probably post some of my measurements as well.
age 31
height 5’ 10"
weight 150 lbs
biceps 15.5 inches
forearms 12 inches
wrists 6.5 inches
waist 29 inches
thighs 21 inches
calves 16 inches
ankles 8.25 inches
hoping to increase my arms to 18 inches
calves to 18 inches, then everything else in proportion

about a month ago, i started upping my protein supplements… i am taking about 35-40 grams whey protein, 3 times a day…on top of eating all i can… i have definitely started to notice a difference… i havent put on much weight, but i have less fat, and more dense muscle…
i have already read several things here that i plan on implementing in the future…
hey guys,
im new to T-Nation and i have some questions that i hope you can help me with. I have trouble building up my shoulders but i have rather big arms and it just looks unporportioned. Are there any specific exercises then the ones im already doing…(military press, upright row, shrugs) that i should be doing? aswell, i just finished a bulking stage and im going to begin cutting. how should i approach cutting (low weight, high reps) ??
thanks
