New PR's

About to go hit chest with vertical back motions…results coming

I squatted 295x1 today. It is an all time PR. It wasn’t very hard either.

Not to good of a workout today but still got all my weights…BUT I did dunk it for the first time in a long time

I have been training for less than a year.

I’m 6’2 220

November of last year…

Bench:185
Squat:225
Dead:280 =690

July
Bench:275
Squat:425
Dead:420=1120

I ran smolov jr and base. A lot of 5x5 work. And just really working hard in the gym. Trying to eat right and doing a lot of reading. I’m happy with my gains.

yeah, but the way they fit doesn’t work just right. They can either be like halfway down my torso (so the weight would still hit me pretty good) or just too tall for me to actually touch my chest on the bench. It isn’t a super big deal–I usually just set them low, and figure I’ll just lower one side of the bar and slide it over them if I figure out I can’t make a lift. But at least I found out what I set to find out :0[/quote]

If you’re working out on a home rack, you could just add some height to the spotter arms themselves. Or raise your bench.

Holy crap thats amazing! I am 6’3 225 myself so we’re pretty equal body wise. not strength wise tho…

bench isn’t adjustable heigth wise, and it’s already too tall; I have to take a 50 lb dumbbell and set it on top of a brick to rest my feet on. Partly it’s cause I’ve got short legs, partly cause it’s a tall bench.

315X2 clean grip deadlift yesterday, along with a 115X1 snatch. Both just every day training PR’s.

x2

Benched 235 for a very easy single today, this is an all time PR.

When I say very easy, I mean I could have gotten at least 3-4 reps.

I also dumbbell rowed 110x10 for each arm.

Squatted 175 x 20. That was rough. It’s crazy how much your brain screws with you when you’re doing those. After rep 12, I had the bar just above the hooks, about to lower it and call it quits. But I stepped back and finished. (I tried these yesterday, but pussied out after 8 reps.)

1.15*BW so far. Getting closer to 1.5

They’re not even hard. Sure, my legs are shaking, but mostly it’s all in my head.

In other news, I did some low-pulley rows on my homemade pulley setup. Snapped the rope; made a lot of noise. Lol. That’s what I get for being cheap. (I’ll be upgrading this to steel cable within the next week or so.)

Major grats…if I could do BW+ for 20 reps on squats I’d be pretty stoked.

Got a new PR in the closet today. I’ve outgrown 2 pair of pants, 2 pair of shorts, 3 shirts and all the t-shirts are getting snug!

^I like it…I want to get to the point where I buy XXL shirts and people ask if I bought them at Baby Gap

3 days with no PRs? Come on guys!

I got a 405 deadlift today, like everything else I’ve posted, it wasn’t hard.

I hit 335 on High Bar Back Squat today like it was nothing. Had easy 20 lbs jump left but it would have been a grinder I believe. That’s a new PR for me and have jumped my squat from just 300ish to this is just a month.

I am 21
5 ft 7 in
198lbs soaking wet

I got 245 x 2 on squats…erh, it’s weaksauce compared to my other lifts but hey

Weak sauce is better than no sauce I guess.
