How bout we take all those bands, build a slingshot and sling this fucker into a brick wall. Then send the kids for some physio and get them hooked up with a competent coach… anyone agree?
Hell I can think of something better…

Sorta looks like him on the right.

Ive come to the conclusion that this guy really has no clue on how to train 15 year old kids. I am a multyply gear wearer, and I am proud of it, because of the hard work that it takes to learn gear. But SERIOUSLY, these kids are not ready for this kind of training yet! They need lots of raw training and food! They have no muscle they are too skinny. If you noticed on the squats, EVERYONE was weak out of the hole. Thats a bad sign. You need to be strong through the whole squat, especially at that age.

There was no verbal coaching on the lifts either, and that pisses me off. The form looks like shit and the guy is gonna just sit there and not tell them!? Fuck my training partner would blow a gasket.

I say give them 3 years of solid straight weight raw training and bodybuilder accessory work, and I guarantee they will smoke 70 pound PR’s in the gym.

And did you ever notice he had no adult training partners? hmm i wonder why.
Lets not forget that these kids are “football players” too. Yet he never mentions plyometrics or conditioning; only gear and strength training. The main thing I don’t understand is how these kids are supposed to build any appreciable amount of muscle with half movements in gear. His logic is completly fucked.

Another thing is, we all know beginners can get strength gains following just about any consistent strength training method, so this explains the minute amount of gains they have had.
Any kid could make the same gains following any heavy training program and I don’t understand how he doesn’t see that.

This guy really pisses with his lies. I still haven’t found his “muscular development interview”.

If this guy is a “coach” and he “coaches” football players, I’d be interested to see his record. Clearly if he is such an amazing powerlifting coach, then surely his players are getting better and better as well.

I like how he says he would take the stronger athlete over the athletic athlete every time. lol. That’s a first.

Is this guy squatting to Nickelback?

Oh hell no.

I have a hard time believing that’s 800#.

I also have a hard time believing this guy isn’t a pedophile.

His voice just sounds dumb…he is a horrible person
BrianHanson wrote:
Maybe he just fucking hates kids? It would be more comforting to know that his long term goal is to cripple random teenager, at least then this would all make so much more sense.
LMAO

Love when he’s getting psyched up to quarter squat 8 hundo ssssssssss ssssssssssss ssssssssss sssssssssss like a snake lol

Hey, be careful there. I consider myself smart, but always feel like an idiot in front of groups and cameras. Maybe I’m just self-conscious, but I’m pretty sure I would come off the same speaking in front of that camera…my actions would prove otherwise, but I’d talk like an idiot lol

That’s a bit harsh, sounding dumb doesn’t make you a horrible person.

Squatting to Nickelback does, though.

Every single time he squats he listens to that same fucking Nickleback song. Nickleback is ghey

Hell!!! His voice isn’t what makes him sound dumb. Nope !! Not at all . What makes him sound dumb his whole training philosophy in regards to strength training for young athletes.

Schindler’s List comes to mind when I see these kids.

And it’s the same fucking song every big lift he does, it’s his
PR song

Upon reading all of your arguments and witnessing the videos. I do share most of your sentiments that these kids are not learning proper lifting techniques nor are they undergoing the foundational elements of the process of becoming a power lifter. I will agree with Jim Parrish in one aspect in his “correleation” of High School football recruits from texas and the huge amount of participation from football (as well as other athletes) players in powerlifting in this state. In my 9 year career as a private strength coach in Illinois I understand that collegiate football coaches look for the “physical specimens” more so thatn the skilled player. In Illinois we have many highly skilled players (especially in Chicago’s west suburbs) but they often lack the size, strength, explosiveness, and speed of a blue chip recruit.

Now, can we say that powerlifting makes great football players? Absolutely not, but powerlifting (training) can certainly develop high school athletes into the sought after physical specimens that division one coaches are looking to fit the bill. In my coaching career I have also coached many HS level lifters in the APF/AAPF but have followed a certain progression requiring them to compete raw, progressing to wraps, then to loose fitting single-ply polyester gear if their strength levels and TECHNIQUE determine they may do so. In my opinion I feel that the sport of powerlifting can be a great outlet for any and every young woman or man that may want to improve their physicality and mentality for other sports, given they are taught correctly and not rushed into achieving high level performances in the formative years.

Better Nickleback than Creed.

i seriously feel like maybe these Joe Average threads should be moved/kept in the “get a life” forum. there’s things that are so stupid that they are funny, but i honestly dont find anything funny about this clown. i dont know the guy, so im not saying hes a bad person, but he is basically just fucking these kids up. ive never seen any of them complete a lift with anything close to proper form, or really display any kind of strength that they have gained while lifting like this. they all look like they need to skip the gym and rather eat a cheeseburger- where is any muscle that they have built while getting as strong as they are being told they are becoming? its just fucking sad.

umm, this is likely a stupid question, but what is wrong with squatting to nickelback or creed?
i don’t usually have music on when i’m lifting at the school gym but i don’t see anything wrong with it?
