Thats one thing I even over looked . Parrish is blowing crap about 500lbs plus squats for reps. yet these kids arent even coming even close for a single come Meet time. I was just wondering . the last time a version of this thread came up. Someone claimed they where in contact with one of these kids . Im just wondering what became of that ?

Ive come to the conclusion that this guy really has no clue on how to train 15 year old kids. I am a multyply gear wearer, and I am proud of it, because of the hard work that it takes to learn gear. But SERIOUSLY, these kids are not ready for this kind of training yet! They need lots of raw training and food! They have no muscle they are too skinny. If you noticed on the squats, EVERYONE was weak out of the hole. Thats a bad sign. You need to be strong through the whole squat, especially at that age.

There was no verbal coaching on the lifts either, and that pisses me off. The form looks like shit and the guy is gonna just sit there and not tell them!? Fuck my training partner would blow a gasket.

I say give them 3 years of solid straight weight raw training and bodybuilder accessory work, and I guarantee they will smoke 70 pound PR’s in the gym.

And did you ever notice he had no adult training partners? hmm i wonder why.

I am not a CSCS YET. But I would never allow this to happen within a 10 mile radius of me while calling myself a coach. What bothers me most is that they are throwing away awesome years for adding strength and mass and learning proper technique with this bullshit. The possibility also exists that they are acquiring injuries that they shouldn’t have until they’re in their 50’s and their parents probably have no idea how wrong this guy is about even the most basic concepts of gaining size, strength and athletic ability.

This is prime time to be building strength and size for future college athletics, and I say with complete confidence that none of these kids will have a competitive level of strength to compete in college football under this guys’ direction. Honestly it’s just sad that he can’t accept that maybe one of the dozens of people telling him he’s doing it wrong is correct and have these kids lift in a way which will far more effectively and safely contribute to their strength development in football.

I wonder what this guy thinks about weightlifters?

Edit: Brutal. His video has 0 likes, 26 dislikes.

I too wish to state the obvious on the third page.

Form and control ? Really “Chris” ? Its sad, that your “boy” Parrish isnt following your advice in regards to these kids. By the way "Parrish "theres a reason that certain concepts have been around for 30 years plus. They have been shown to work ! Lets be honest shall we? From what Ive learned so far about this guy . Parrish is all about his own ego and “Pimping” his own training system. I hate to break it to him but training some one in sports proformance isnt the same as training for Geared Lifting.

Which I assume some in here will agree. Parrish mentions keeping a open mind. What?? Here is a guy that says this but is so narrow minded that he over looks all other attributes needed to develop a athlete. Other then strength. Why? Because in reality hes more focused on powerlifting. If your going to pimp a program for athletes then you need to provide some stat number.

For istance : Well “Johnny” here is a Jr. Last season he ran for a average of 3.2 yards a carry. After we worked with him , this season he averaged 4.2 yards a carry and gained 20 lbs of body weight and improved his 40 yd time. But all im seeing is him going on about these kids doing Meets. Am I missing something here?
Very good observation!

This is going to make you sad but I am almost positive Jim Parrish has his CSCS.

Yeah it is sad, but unfortunately you have quacks in every profession. I have my doctorate in physical therapy and believe me, there are plenty of dummy physical therapists out there despite the level of graduate education we recieve.

I remember in another video from this guy:
Kid #1 is squatting really, really high
Kid #2 says: go a little deeper
Retarded Coach yells (at kid #2): SHUT UP!

It may be best in this case that verbal coaching isn’t happening.

How bout we take all those bands, build a slingshot and sling this fucker into a brick wall. Then send the kids for some physio and get them hooked up with a competent coach… anyone agree?

Fucking agreed. I also have guns

My favourite part is when he talks about how much strength and lean muscle his guys have gained… they look more like a chess club than a powerlifting team.

Although to be honest I find it hard to hate the videos completely based on all the laughs I get from them

thanks.

When he said: “Wearing gear will make you stronger a lot faster”, then I knew it was time to stop watching that movie. Gear or no gear. It is possible to train in many ways, but you do not become stronger more quickly when using gear.

Those kids should first of all create a solid base, and that’s a lot of volume training with minimal gear, if they want to compete in competitions, then they must of course train with gear too. However, it is my belief that the majority of the training should be done raw anyway.

I am a bit sad to comment on this video, as I think this bloke goes out of his way to call out all the ignorant people that leave negative comments on his videos, when in reality it is he that is the ignorant one.

From the way he talks (very persuasively) one can understand that HIS METHODS are the best, and HE IS GOD and cannot fail. I feel sorry for the kids who cannot look through all that bullshit.

If he only lived in a parallel reality himself, but he’s bringing these kids along with him, and that is very sad.

Well, this is the world. Welcome to the freak show, and if you’re born in America, congrats, you have a seat in the front row!

Anyone else noticed what the ratio is to the “like/dislike” on virtually every one of his videos? I know it’s Youtube but damn!
That’s the most impressive thumbs down ratios I’ve ever seen on youtube!

I find it funny when he name drops “Westside” . As if somehow that lends credibility to his ass. The funny thing is lets be honest. Unless your training at Westside under Simmons watch full eye your not training “Westside”. from what Ive seen over the years “Westside” guys training has been slightjy changing over the years anyway. But what " Westside" principles is he using in the first place ? Bands ?
It just makes me want to barf how he will twist certain concepts to fit into his own training philosophy. Or to justify it to anyone who might point out blaring holes in his concepts.

Yep. Yet my 405 raw pull was “weak”.
