I googled the lawnmower rows…one knee and hand on a bench and row opposite? [/quote]
Hey, hows it going Skip? Paul Carter had a recent article “traps are the new abs” on this site. One of the exercises he called db lawnmowers. Kind of an explosive one arm upright row. I think its 15 articles deep in that section.

Definitely not what I saw on youtube. They were doing what I call DB rows.
Hell of a set of sumo deads there-nice control, speed, and execution is technical excellence. I’ve been doing my sumo deads like this recently too and liking the heck out of them.
Skip, I guess it depends on which kind of lawnmower someone owns. John Deer is more of a low pull and a Toro is more of a high pull. So obviously if you want to work on the lats buy a John Deer and it you need work on the traps buy a Toro.
GV, thanks for the encouragement. Semi-sumo just feels natural. Regular and wide sumo feel forced.
420 is embarrassing? Don’t tell most of the male population that.
Speaking of Lawnmowers…John Deere’s world headquarters is here in the Quad Cities. Too bad I don’t work for them…I could get it at cost!
Right now, though, my kid’s old plastic lawnmower would be too heavy.

Who are you kidding? You are still strong like bull.
Skip & Kevin, I always appreciate you gentlemen commenting on my thread. Helps to keep me going when I don’t feel like working out.
I found this cool stone on my property today that needed me to carry it around. So I did and threw in some pullups and chinups on my outdoor bar. My youngest is having a birthday sleepover tonight so I have 5 extra boys. Keeping me busy.

Everythings a toy…
Skip, the kids and I had the best time. They played tackle football and other games outside for hours. When they came in they wanted to workout. So they did bench, chin-ups, dips and ab rolls. One kid even wanted to squat. Good times.
Minimaltechno, thanks so much for those videos. Adds an entire new set of exercises and workouts that never even crossed my mind. I’m going to either build or buy a landmine base.
Joe, stone carrying/lifting is brutal. I want to do a lot more of it over the next few months. But I need to make some set workouts so I’m not just making it up every time.
Paul, a freak in the bedroom? Is that what you mean? But really I’ve always been decent at pull-ups. When I was 200 lbs (many, many moons ago) I could do 30+ pull-ups and rope climbs without using my legs.
Yes…the energy of youth is awe inspiring. My 9 year old can go all day, forget to eat, then come in after hours of playing hard and want to do stuff with me. It would be unfair for me to have that much energy!
Glad you had a good time. That definitely beats the alternative. It is definitely more fun when they get old enough to interact and have decent manners.
