Got outside with the trapbar. I was beat after this.

  1. get equipment out of basement and out to workout area.
  2. 6 rounds of trapbar deadlift immediately into a 50 foot carry. 345x5 reps+carry
  3. trapbar sldl 345x5x5
  4. carry back to house and get everything back inside

Steve, Fug! that’s good livin’ right there!

Makes me think of football camp, in HS. We would practice on Saturday, then, right after, have to load all of the weights, weight racks, benches and squat racks into a moving truck. Next morning we headed to camp. Once there, we had to unload and set it all up.

The next Friday and Saturday we repeated the process.

Good stuff…

I always like coming here and seeing how you train…
trap bar carries the best kind of fun

That kind of carry after those reps with 345 will tucker you out.

Thanks all. One of my nieces is having a college graduation party this afternoon so I had to workout this morning. Still low carbing it so I was happy with my strength levels. I don’t report it most days but I do 10-15 minute workouts at work a couple days a week. Last week I had a day I did arms and another shoulders. They’re usually high rep, supersets or chin-up/pull-ups.

1a. bench barx20 95x10 135x10 185x5 225x5 275x5 315x4x3 315x5

2b. chin-ups BWx3x8
3a. db curls 40’s x 1 set max reps
3b. overhead db triceps ext 40’s x 1 set max reps

Looks like you covered your entire upper body in that one.

Enjoy the party!

Thanks Skip. The party was a good time. Started out eating well but the dam broke and I ate anything that didn’t move. Got back on the food wagon yesterday. Hit the work gym today for a few sets before lunch.

1.neutral grip chin-ups BW x 10,8,6,4,2
2.pulldowns to bottom of sternum 150 x max reps

no belt, overhand all the sets I could

  1. semi-sumo deads 135x3,185x3,225x3,275x3,315x3,365x3,405x3,455x3
  2. regular deads 315x10x5 1 min rest btw sets, set up on 50 sec mark, 10 sets
  3. BW squats 5 sets

Slowly nursing my left knee back to health with some BW squats.

Solid work as always Steve. Love the outdoor session. I keep my farmers carries handles loaded in the garage for that purpose but I’m too lazy to drag up anything else from the basement for an outdoor session.

Eating is not a bad thing…usually.
Strong work.

Somewhere I missed what happened to your knee. Must have been while I was hiding in my cave.

Dave, thanks for the support. Great idea keeping the handles somewhere they’re easy to setup and use.

Skip, I came out of my cave and started jogging with my oldest son. Should have stayed in my cave. Now I can’t squat without pain in my left knee. But I think its slowly getting better.

t-handle swings 75 x 175 total swings
2 minutes of tabata on stationary bike

I’ve never tried a tabata workout. I had to stop at 2 minutes.

175 swings with 75 pounds counts as cardio in my book.

Yes, strong cardio.

Thanks Dave and GV. Conditioning is so boring I change it up almost every time.

5/20 work gym

1a. neutral grip chin-ups BWx17,5,4
1b. push-ups BWx42,10,8
2. super set lateral raise 25x20 with machine shld press 160x15
3. db lawn mowers 50x15 (each side)
4. cable curls 140x10
5. dip machine 290x5 (no rest) 240x5

No time to lift tonight so I did a few more sets than usual in the work gym. I was real happy with the 17 chin-ups but surprised I could only do 42 push-ups. I’ve been having elbow pain with chins and pull-ups but the neutral grip chins are painless. Bonus.

I bask in radiance of your greatness…17 chins!! Awesome stuff!

Awesome to you. To me it is epic! Great work…

Agreed on the neutral grip. Any pulls that aren’t neutral just hurt.

Oh, go on. No really go on. Thanks.

I did a bunch of yardwork when I got home (weed wack, carry 20 bags of mulch, 4 bags of fertilize, pour 10 gallons of chlorine in the pool). So I was tired before I started this workout and it showed.

I’m down 18-20 lbs. Only weighed 257 this morning. I think I started at 275 or 277.
