Late one but everything felt good. Time to set some kind of 6 or 8 week goal and actually stick to it.

Ok , first in the new log! Your 12 week goal should be to do a meet in Nashua in Nov…hint hint…
2nd in. Nice Work. My shoulders love the top squat albeit at a lighter load than you are using.
3rd…that gets me a bronze, right?
Looks like you have found your groove with the top squats.
Just to continue our hockey discussion . . . Yes, hockey can be a year-round sport. My son played on four teams last year. How old are yours? Wondering if we’d ever overlap at a tourney or something?
Oh the pressure. I’m so weak and my right shoulder doesn’t like to bench right now. Let me think about it.
KP, my youngest is 14 and oldest is 16. We’re headed to northern Delaware and Philadelphia next weekend. How old is your son?
Yeah! I made the top 5. At least you got it in up there late or not, nice work.

1a. MP warm-up 140x5 160x5 185x5 135x15
1b. chin-ups a bunch of BW and +35lb sets
2a. bowflex flies superset with pushups 3 sets
2b. bar in the corner rows superset with db shrugs
3. bowflew tri ext superset with pushups 1 set
4. db curls 40’s to failure
My right shoulder felt great until 185. So I dropped back down to 135 for reps.

Thank you Paul for getting the wheels in my brain turning. I really should do this but I’ll have to bring my grip way in on bench and have to compete in the 275 class even though I weigh 260. And should I drop MP until after the meet? Damn you Paul. I have until Nov 6 to submit so I have time.

My son is 16 as well. What level does your 16-year-old play?

My 16 year old plays for the New Hampshire junior monarchs 16U elite team and for the high school. Funny thing is he’s been playing on men’s league all summer for fun.

You’ve definitely gotten my attention. I’m going to start powerlift only training and see how I feel in a couple weeks.

Hey Kev. Crazy weekends start in 4 days. I’ll see what I can do about the Nov 21 meet.
Turned 46 today and it didn’t even hurt.
8/24
warm-up:
bike 5 minutes
Defranco agile 8
The top squat attachment made the GMs really comfortable. But my back was so tight I had to drop the reps. The bike and Defranco warm-up were a workout themselves. But now that I’m old I need to warm-up properly.
Happy Birthday Steve…hope its an awesome day!

Give it a couple of weeks. The hangover will set in…lol.
Happy Birthday Steve! Welcome to the over 45 club!
I’ll drink a beer in your honor tonight…
Thanks guys. Had a great day and only a mild hangover.
Dragged the black pipe out of the corner and did some close grip benching with it. To sound cool I will refer to the pipe as an axle bar. My right shoulder felt ok.
