I actually had a productive warm-up today. No back pain or knee pain. Maybe there is something to this warm-up thing.[/quote]

IDK - I warmup all the time but I have chronic lower back pain. I even foam roll and stretch AND use a lax ball to roll out the kinks. Even after all that, Advil is what works best…

Damn lower backs. Just not meant to last are they?

1a. pause db bench 50’sx2x10, 100’sx5, 150’sx3, 110’sx5x5
1b. chin ups BWx2x6 +25x3x5 BWx6,5,6,8
2. dips BWx30
3. db curls 40’sx23
4. db shrugs 110’sx20

The jump from 120’s to 150’s was a little much but I can’t make any weights in-between. So 150 it is.

Great work in here.

Ice melting yet? We hit 70 last weekend one day, and overnights are climbing above freezing and into the 40s.

The only way I can relieve my back pain is by doing tons of mobility work on my hamstrings along with rolling with evil intent doing deep tissue work all over my back. Often I will break out in to a sweat the rolling hurts so much and I will see stars as well. But after nearly passing out with the exertion rolling myself to nearly tears I then feel like a new man until the next killer training.

Jack, its been nice the past couple days. Sitting here with the windows open listening to the peepers right now.

GV, I’m going to have to start making stuff like that a staple in my training if I want to keep weightlifting.

Got outside for some conditioning.

A few sets of each:
jumps, sprints, sledge hammer, burpees

How’s the back feeling? Sometimes it’s nice to just get out and walk for a while. Glad to see you got that conditioning in today. Nice one, simple and quick…

My back is fine thank you. Squatting is the only thing that really puts me out of commission. Everything else can give me a little pain but nothing too bad.

Nice and balmy here in the mountains, 70, put fert on the grass tonight.
Conditioning? I think I heard of that somewhere…

Weather starting to cooperate here. I need to do conditioning a little more often.

  1. deadlift standing on 45 lb plate 135x3,185x3,225x3,275x3,315x3,365x2,405x5,365x5x3

    b. bowflex leg ext 160x12,10,6 100x20

Super-set was a good quad burned. Working on my shapely summer legs.

  1. 3 rounds: sledgehammer, tire jumps, short sprint
  2. 5x30 yard sprints

Dragged my sled up hill on the asphalt for 650-700 feet and back down. I thought it was going to be easy but it kicked my ass. I had to stop 5 or 6 times up hill. My 14 year old stopped fewer times than I did. And he beat me in all 5 sprints last night. WTF.

My last Mt climb learned me to never compete with a teen. They finished their lunch by the time I reached the summit. No shame Steve.

LOL, resistance is futile…pass the torch!

Torch has been passed. But I don’t feel too bad because he is 5’10’’ tall and weighs 215 lbs and only has a little chub. He could be a beast if he starts training regularly.

Bruins playoffs start tomorrow night. My wife and kids are into it so it makes it fun. Popcorn, ice cream and of course booze for daddy.

We can’t return to youth but we can still kick ass and enjoy booze.

Well…at least enjoy the booze.
