New Hampshire Lifter

570 …that’s it? awesome stuff Steve!

Strong work. Nice rink, I’m not even going to show my son the picture as it will just get him started asking me to put one in.

Thanks Paul. Cleaned off the snow off the rink tonight and my oldest skated with the neighbor’s kid. Tomorrow will be 4 weeks since he broke his collar bone. He feels 100% but we’ll see what the doctor says on Wednesday.

DB, a rink is a lot of work but the kids enjoy it. Especially my oldest. He’d skate everyday if he could. Is it cold enough where you live to have a rink? When I think of Ohio I don’t think cold. Am I wrong?

This weekend.

I don’t know why I have the hardest time downloading videos.

warm up superset: (bowflex leg ext 160lbs - leg cyrl 75lbs - ab rolls BW) x3x15

  1. semi-sumo deads 135x5,225x5,275x5,315x5,385x5,425x5,475x3
  2. regular deads 315x5x5
  3. squats 225x5x5

No belt with any set. I started using my belt again with anything over 500 lbs. The squats were easy and felt great. My back was a little tight but I had no pain. I don’t want to jump the gun but I’m so hoping to work squats back into the rotation.

475X3 with no belt is strong work.

It isn’t cold enough for a sustained period of time to make putting in a rink worth it in my mind. This winter has been colder than any in the last decade so far but there have still been a couple of days near 50 in the last few weeks and today it was 40, I’m guessing that make maintaining the ice a problem. I know there are a few people with outdoor rinks here but don’t know any of them to ask what kind of set ups they have.

By the way your kids have blazing speed on the ice!

lifting and hockeys look great!

Have you ever seen a bone cracker about your back? I found a chiro that has really helped with my hip, and therefore, my sanity. And I read somewhere that 50% of problems with the back are caused in the hips. just spitballin

Thanks Guys.
DB, don’t know why that video posted double speed. If you can only get a week or two out of a rink its just not worth it. Too much work. We can get at least 2 months here depending on the weather obviously.
MJ, maybe in the spring after hockey season I’ll hit up a chiropractor. I think my problem may be some tight band or muscle somewhere. And I’m always interested in your spitballin.

Thanks Jack. Been so busy this week we haven’t been able to skate on it.

warm up:

  1. bike 17 minutes (wanted 20 but ass and hands went numb)
2a. bow flex leg ext 160x3x15
    2b. leg curl 75x3x15
    2c. powertec squats 135x10,225x2x10
    2d. ab rolls BWx20,25,10
2e. PVC pipe roll glutes, t band, middle back

  1. squat 135x2x5,185x2x5,225x2x5,275x2x5,315x2x5
  2. GMs 135x5x5

My warm up was a workout in itself. Everything was easy and my low back felt surprisingly good. Going to use 315 as max and run beyond 5/3/1 for a few weeks.

PVC pipe rolling is insane! Good news on the back Steve ! Nice chin work.

4. db curls 40’sx15

Staying up past midnight and boozing for the past several nights have caught up with me. Everything felt heavy.

Staying up late is enough to make lifting the next day a challenge and adding booze I’m sure takes its toll.
