That’s a big double on deads, followed by a wicked squat set. Great work.
Steve- workouts look as stout as ever!

Thanks Joe. Remember I weigh 275 lbs. Using percent of BW lifted I’m sure you kick my butt.[/quote]
Don’t be so sure. I’m up to 225lbs so I’m not that far behind. Theres no doubt you are a freaking beast and your training always sounds like mroe fun than anyone elses.
Thanks guys. Funny that being called a beast makes me feel all good inside.

I’ve been following Wendler’s beyond 5/3/1. Warm ups + regular sets + joker sets + downs sets can be 15 or more sets of the main exercise. I don’t have much left for anything else afterwards.
Nice pressin’ Steve! I bet the CGB was a bear after all that MP.
And, for the hundreth time, I am jealous of the chins. If I ever hit 5, in a row, I am throwing myself a party.

Thanks Skip. CGB was a little weak after all the MP.

40 minutes of trap bar deads was enough on a Saturday morning for me.
Shouldn’t you be at a hockey rink??? nice work on the Trap bar Steve. Enjoy the weekend!

Funny you mention being at a hockey rink. I’m sitting at a rink in Bedford, MA right now reading this on my phone.
After last Saturdays workout my low back my was really stiff and achy. Throughout the day it got worse until I was finally all bent over in quite a bit of pain. It wasn’t until today that I’m almost completely pain free and can stand up straight. So needless to say I haven’t worked out all week. Going to bench and do chin ups tonight. Not sure what I’m going to do for lower body over the next couple of weeks. Maybe single leg work.
Injuries and sickness abound around the 35 and over threads. Hope you are feeling better and strong.

After not training for a week I was surprised 415 went up.

Thanks GV. Back is 95%.
Ohhh, look who is sneaking in a 350 set and the end of bench work…Nice !! And I am always impressed with your chins…you’re not a runt like me, so seeing those steady set numbers is very cool… Merry Christmas to you and yours!
Very solid work. That’s a shit-ton of reps with a lot of weight.

Ha! You called it. Ended the bench workout with a 350 set. I’m hoping to chin with as much as I can bench someday.
I hope you and the family have a Merry Christmas and Santa brings you something nice. Like Wendler’s beyond 5/3/1.

Thanks Jack. I’ve been really happy with the direction my bench and MP have been going. My old, aching lower back has been a little discouraging though.

1a. leg curls 6 sets x 12-20 reps
1b. leg ext 6 sets x 15-25 reps

Back feeling good but I cut it short to keep it that way.
Strong AND Smart.
Merry Christmas.
