Thanks Paul. I try to supply the good stuff.

Skip, I’ve got to stay ahead of you on at least one lift. And I did ache the next day. But it was more my lats from the 11 sets of chin ups.
See, I am so programmed NOT to acknowledge that other people can actually do chin ups that I didn’t even notice them!

Those are even more impressive! I am definitely envious!

I think chin ups need to be part of my next set of goals. Of course, losing weight would help correct the deficiency.
I’ve tanked up over 270 lbs again so I know all about the ‘losing weight would help’ issue.

Thanks Jack. I aim to please.

Got outside for a workout today. Felt good to get some sun on my head.

 1. 6 sled drags
 2. jump in and out of big tire x a bunch
 3. 2 stone carries
 4. 3 small hill sprints

I see you got the cardio taken care of for us. Thanks! Now I don’t have to.

I bet the tire jumps are tiring…no pun intended.

Thanks Skip. I need to do more of this stuff. I’ve really let myself get out of shape.

2b. trap bar shrugs 225x5x20

My MP needs a lot of work. Like 50 lb increase kind of work.

Close grip bench is looking mighty.

Steve, looking through your log the 50% set looks like its WORK! I’m not looking forward to my turn… feel like they are helping at all?

Thanks GV. My tris were fried after the set with 275.

I think they’re working. See if my maxes go up after a bit. You’ll find they’re ball busters but a fun challenge every workout. I’m not using them for deadlifting. Leaving deadlfting to whatever I feel like doing for sets and reps that day.

Okay…forgive my ignorance (I seem to say that a lot), but what is the 50% set?

As many reps as you can with 73-77% of your max. Rest 1 minute. Then try to hit 50% of the reps you did with the first set. No way you could have known that. No ignorance to be seen here.

 1. cleans 135x2x2 155x2x2 175x5x2
 2. deadlift 225x2,315x2,365x2,405x1,455x1,405x5x2

I alternated semi-sumo and regular stance. Felt good.

2a. MP 135x10
2b. Kirk shrugs 135x10

I planned on 5 sets of MP and shrugs but ran out of steam. Lifting at 7 am on a Saturday just isn’t my thing. Kids have several hockey games 1.5 hours away today. Leaving at 10:30 am and won’t be home until 11 pm.

lifting at 7am sucks…5am on the other hand ! Hey you got the work in and that’s better than not…

nice work- those high rep sets look brutal

I was on autopilot this morning. I think 275x15 was a PR so I’m really happy. The high rep sets are a bit stressful but I’m hoping they pay off after a month or two.

Wow. 275 x 15 is diesel.
