New Hampshire Lifter II

Your stones look great…wait, what?

I’m jealous of most of you guys, with all your equipment/toys at home; I have nothing.

Mac, the basement bulkhead stairs are kind of narrow. I’m 275 and my son 300 so it was tight. We were high 5ing when that stone was off the steps.
Paul, our gym has less than 6 members. So we were able to keep it open for business. :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:
Eric, you’re making me blush.

I really like bands benching and deadlifting. Squatting I like using chains. Changes the way the exercise feels. I need to get that scale with a hook gadget so I can figure how much weight is being added.

Looks like those handles rotate. How does that feel in relation to fixed handle
pulldown attachments?

." 3’’ country crush pulldowns"…did you just make up this B.S.?

Country Crush?? Come on man.

That’s the real name of the product.

Mac, it’s the thickness of the handles that feels funny. I didn’t really notice that they rotate.
Eric, after 3’’ country crush pulldowns I did some 17’’ back road bench press. Making shit up as I go. Hahahahaha. Like Tony said it’s the product name, country crush. Comes in several widths for grip strength.
Tony, good to see you Mr Albino.

Alright, alright…Dang.

They do look like pretty tough work.

My son bought a 275 lb stone mold which we made yesterday. I pulled the mold off today to find it came out a little ‘bumpy’. Not sure why because I shook it and hit it to settle the concrete. But it will do.

The sandbag to shoulder really disagreed with my right bicep. So I cut it short.

Wetter mix is better for finish in molds, although it technically makes the concrete a little weaker. Vibration is key. If you have a reciprocating saw, you put the guard (with no blade in the saw, obviously) aginst the mold surface and pull the trigger gently. Then move it around. Don’t get too crazy with the power, the rhythmic vibration will bring the “Cream” to the outside and make everything smooth. Running a hose over the outside for a while also helps, it cools the mold and forms condensation on the inside.

Thanks HA. I thought I had made the mix wet enough. But I guess not.

I mixed up some plaster of paris I had hanging around and patched the bad spots on the new stone. I’ll sand it tomorrow. Should come out looking cool. Patches of white around the stone.
I’ve walked a bunch of miles since we’ve got this dog. I walked 3.5 miles just today. Not sure if it’s good for me or killing me.

I’ve been feeling beat up lately. So I’ve been taking more time off between workouts. Here’s some pictures of the new stone. Have to get in the basement now.

My son bought an Ohio deadlift bar. Arrived yesterday. He swears it’s the last piece of equipment he’s going to purchase. We’ll see.
