Helped to ‘spot’ guys and gals with the Circus DB at my old gym. It was just trying to keep them from crashing backwards, but you had to be on your toes anywhere near that thing…
The log was great also. You’re gonna need more cushions…
Eric, I can see when the weight starts to get up there that this thing will be all over the place. 87 lbs was manageable. And I do need to buy some weightlifting cushions.
Log press bar x several, 125,145,165,185,165 x a few sets each
I have so much more respect for the strongmen since I’ve started lifting stones, log press, circus db, etc. Powerlifting weights don’t carryover as much as I’d like.
I’m sure it’s fun and challenging, a more sort of primal training.
Instead of tools designed for the human anatomy, the body has to work around the awkwardness and balance itself.
I hurt my back a couple days ago staining the deck. Nothing strenuous. I’m still not 100% but wanted to workout. So I thought a BW workout would be best.
Hopefully better soon.
Injuries from home maintenance are no fun. I flared up my knee last week string trimming on a hill .
It had been feeling so much better prior. I think the yoga for men had really helped loosen up and add some flexibility to my hips , which reduces the stress on my knee.
Use a ramp to roll it up onto a box (or something) a little above waist height. Pick it from there, and do a negative a controlled as you can. Repeat a few times. Do that negative whenever you get a wild hair. You should be able to do a full pick in under a month with it.
