today kicked my ass. Was all jacked up and ready to work…until i finished my first set of 20 rep squats. used 235 and got 20, but locked out and rested at rep 16. Also, not happy totally happy with depth on all reps. i will be camping at 235 for my 20 rep squat until I own the fucker. After this set got a raging headache and fought the nausea for the remainder of my workout. Sucks when I leave the gym more pissed off than when I got there. next time.

Saw your oly lifting (love it) and sorry to hear about the knee. I tore my ACL and MCL, had my knee totally reconstructed, in 1988. I have had it scoped twice since. You will kick ass again.

as for the squats, no it was going to get easier, my next sets were 15,10,6. Also, I checked out your log and after watching the slow death eccentrics you were performing I am not sure what is worse.
I regularly do squats with a 3 sec descent and couldn’t imagine stepping it up to 6 secs.
20 reps is nothing to sneeze at whne you are doing them at 235. Nothing wrong with resting at rep 16 either, if you don’t have to rest on a 20 rep set the weight was too light anyway.

thanks joe. i got 225 to my liking 2 weeks earlier and it wasn’t bad at all. I figured 235 would be difficult but doable. I was mentally prepared but physically just didn’t have it. I am shooting for 20 reps of parallel no lockout no rest squats. i can’t wait to battle it again.
