Remind me… how tall are you? I find it ridiculous, that at 175+ lb sporting a crisp set of abs that you feel you’re not capable of ocmpeting in a natural show. If I’m LUCKY I’ll be competing at that weight. Some of the best natties in Canada are a mere 200 lb in the off-season, and compete in the 180s. The really tall guys (six foot or more) may hit the 190s.
The biggest guy in my area DIDN’T win despite being really lean because his shape just wasn’t the best… thicker waist, blocky abs. You, sir, have really good lines. I think visually, you make a great impression.

So stop f##king selling yourself short!
Thanks K, them is kind words. I am 5 foot 9 btw. I think i could be competitive in a natural show. The question is at what level? I think I could be competitive at the local level and would get slaughtered at higher level shows. I am using competitors like the ones above as my benchmark. I really want to beat them. At my height, I feel I would have to come in at the very top of the weight class to have a chance. My peeled weight is around 166 - 168, so if I can put on 6-8 lbs of lean mass I should be good to go (legs need it most imo). I am in no hurry to compete, I have given myself until I turn 45. I will try and get some pics of the masters middleweights at the upcoming show so we can check them out.
1 arm bb rows
pulldowns
db pullovers
rack pulls w/shrugs 3 x 10 - (pull, do 3 shrugs, set back on pins, count to 5, repeat til 10) my traps were brutalized by this.
banded hypers
calves 8 sets
wt is up, appetite is raging, training is going well, been getting some quality sleep. All systems go.
How is the strength? Noticing the increase with the increase consumption?
thanks ddot. yah, lately strength has been up and the scale is moving northward at a nice clip. Calories are holding steady, just trying to milk the last caloric increase (3 weeks ago) for every lb i can get out of it. I’m thinking I’ll hit 180 easy within the next two weeks. The approach this time to bulking is so different than the last years bulk.
your transformation was awesome btw. impressed by your mental strength.
315x8 is really good work, at 3 Im down for the count! Happy that all systems are a go! That mind body connection is a real thing, maybe your mind is more at ease?
315 x 8? I can tell you’ve been eating. LOL.
admittedly, they were high and included a 3 sec descent. the cool thing was…it was relatively easy.
on my list of short term squat goals, say in the next month is 235 x 20 continuous no lockout as deep as I can get with no rest between reps. Currently my mangina pain becomes unbearable around rep 16. Also, I want 315 for 8 at as low as I can get (no 3 sec descent) with no lockout. hit 295 last week.
my midsection definitely shows the increased fork repetitions I have been putting in. smoothing out.

I hear ya brother. After a ‘sloppy’ weekend, I was at 178 this morning. I’m cleaning it up but planning on moving upwards in weight now.
