That’s a hell of a lot of 20 rep squats. Great work.
Do you find that the 20 rep squats get easier when you mentally get used to how long they take and can pace yourself? I find I panic less now. If I can get to rep 12/13 without too much trouble I know I can last the 20. If I’m really struggling I know I can even do the last 2 without really breathing, mind you I pay for it afterwards.
and do you think the 20 reps are giving you the size you are after?

FarmerBrett - yes to all. I actually enjoy them in a sick way. Physically and mentally they require another gear. I have been trying to do most sets continous with no lockout. Yes, I have noticed that if I get north of 10 reps, that I have the confidence to keep pushing. I train legs on Monday, the pre 20 rep anxiety usuallys sets in by Saturday afternoon.
I think the 20’s have helped with hypertrophy for sure (time under tension). I am usually all over the board with my rep patterns on a week to week basis so I have not been able to consistently work on them. I think they have also made me more confident when attempting higher end sets. I am aiming for 275 for 20 within the next 6 months.

gym etiquette? 72 yr old man farts regularly exposing other gym members to a stench that is not of this world. People cry on impact and cough violently while trying to hold down the vomit. Mind you, it is also 2:30 am in the morning while doing cardio. He has been approached about this in the past (by me) and admitted he shits himself regularly but did not know it offended others. (we can rule out medical condition and his nose works just fine, I asked). He promised to be more respectful of others in the future. This was approx 6 months ago. He has begun to let a few slip again, not around me yet, but he will and it will not be pretty. how can i solve this problem without taking out a 72 yr old man? Srsly. I tried the high ground. Now what?

Keep a can in your bag and spray when needed? While staring him in the face.
Go easy on him. If you and I are still lifting at 72 maybe we’ll be suffering from a bit of “arse leakage” too.
