Need Help Post Surgery

I had been using PN with great results for the past 3 months, then low and behold I get a staff infection in my knee, end up with 8 days in the hospital, 3 surgeries, and IV antibiotics for 3 weeks (just finishing them up now).

Needless to say I havent been able to be very active. By the way I currently have a pick line in my arm for IV’s so I cant do any kind of workouts until it is out (hopefully this friday)

I have gone from 204 pounds to 185 pounds, I realize that this is mostly muscle which sucks. I have been trying to eat as healthy as possible as my mobility allows. Protein shakes, lowfat yogurt, whole wheat bread, natural peanut butter, lean beef, and fruits and vegetables.

However, I am going to have to do 3 weeks of physical therapy, does anyone have any ideas of some routines I can do in the gym/home to help start building muscle back up in addition to my PT?

Before this all happend I was using Waterburys Outlaw strength and conditioning program.

thanks for any help.

I would definitely defer to the therapist and stick to what they suggest, word for word. If they’re qualified enough (which I’m sure they are), they should be able to give you appropriate advice as to what you can/cannot/should/should not be doing while in PT.

I’m presuming the therapy is for your knee, correct? If so, you might want to shoot a question to Mike Robertson in his Locker Room, since he recently release his Bulletproof Knees program.
