N64 Golden Eye 007

Been researching games too get on my new x box that I’ll be picking up on weds. and it reminds me of the amount of hours I spent playing this game…he’ll we still occasionally pull the 64 out too just have a bit of session…games were never the same after this one. the multi player was the crowning achievement.

nothing better than planting a remote mine on body armour only for your mate to pick it up then you blow them too hell.

i remember the xmas mum got this for me, I was pretty disappointed because i wanted duke nukem( i was 10 at the time)yet decided to give golden eye a shot, wow after an hour or two i was captured spent almost the next decade playing it. on a side note i remember getting duke nukem for my following bday, trash game…yeah he was the pinnical of a man lol just no where near golden eyes level

funny a mate heard me and my neighbours talking about golden eye and thought he would destroy me, rules were 5 minutes, license to kill, power weapons…the score was me 45-1…since then none of my friends have been willing to challenge me

awesome game… at uni we have 2 N64s hooked up to each other on 2 different screens. nothing like 8 player perfect dark… :stuck_out_tongue:

whaqt other games took your fancy?

i was a big fan of:
zelda orcania of time (best game ever made imo)
golden eye
worms armageddon
mario
mario carts
1080 snowboarding

Ocarina of Time was fucking sweet, but Majora’s Mask sucked a big one. Aside from the ones you listed, I was partial to Killer Instinct Gold, Kirby 64, and a slew of others I can’t really remember. You covered the biggies, though.

banjo kazooie!!!

how could i forget about it

Goldeneye 007 was pure multiplayer heaven… G.O.A.T for sure.

ocarina of time
majora’s mask (underrated)
conkers bad fur day
super mario 64
mario kart
lylat wars
donkey kong 64 (which i never finished cos its a fucking hard piece of fuck)

i never finished orcania of time… i got stuck on the water temple three times in a row! i think i lowered the water at the wrong time or something… :frowning:

water temples always suck in zelda games.
by the end of it, you have to have lowered and risen the water level 3 times to finish the thing. i think. been a long time

fuck i dunno… i literally spent 3 weeks running about the temple trying to proceed somewhere else…

i also did EVERYTHING else that was possible to do outside the temple… Pissed me off

I wouldn’t challenge you either if you choose such stupid modes to play. GoldenEye is a great game that can require a good bit of skill, but for as good of a game as it is, it is equally unbalanced, some maps, modes and even characters are legitimately unfair to play on and will give one player a significant edge over the others.

Power Weapons and License to Kill is a joke. Come back when you are beating your friends 45-1 with pistols only and no auto aim.

The only objective that ever eluded me was the invincibility cheat on Facility. I think you needed to clear it in 1:45 on 00 Agent to get the cheat.

Never seemed possible to me given the amount of objectives and the fact that one of the objectives was random(where the scientist/agent was to give you the bomb) it always bested me though. I think I came close a few times, within 5 seconds, but never actually got the cheat.

That was impossible, but once I got all of the weapons and infinite ammo I was happy.

super smash brothers for N64

we had some intense sessions

i think i got that… there was a secret way/route to take that took u around quicker. u also didnt need to plant all the mine… i think 3 worked as opposed to the full 6

I always had to clamor for the above settings. Everyone else, the boorish plebs they are, wanted the big bangs, automatic, extra life bullshit. LtK and pistols is a gentleman’s game.

What was everyone’s favorite weapon/level to battle their friends at?

I was always partial to remote mines in the complex, first to 20 kills usually.

the first perfect dark was possibly the best game ever made. i like games where you can choose the weapons that will be on the map in multi player. the first perfect dark is the only game to allow this (well, now the 2nd one allows it too, but the 1st is still better).

Golden Eye is not far behind perfect dark. im very bad at single player shooting games, so i usually cheat, but i still remember how much fun having infinite ammo and every gun would be. Paintball was always nice as well.

Killer instinct is tons of fun. sabrewulf was probably the best in my opinion. if i remember correctly, glacius had tons of combos but they were very hard to get the button patterns down. Does anyone know if they ever came out with a 2nd killer instinct?

Banjo and Kazooie was very fun as well.

I liked donkey kong when it came out. i gave up after i got to one of the levels and you had to jump over barrels like in the very original donkey kong. i could never beat it.

super mario was a great game. i could never get all 120 stars. my cousin some how achieved this feat.

i also enjoyed ken griffey jr baseball. once again, i would cheat and create a team of created players, and then ken griffey jr himself. id type in the code when he got up and id hit a home run every time. i still remember it- on the d-pad- left left, right right right, left left

I always discuss with my friends how N64 was by far the best system to ever come out. it had the best games, and was always so much fun.

I completely agree that N64 Golden Eye was amazing. It was my favorite game of all time. I don’t think COD4 or any of the newer stuff compares to it at all. The N64 is the latest system I own and I play it a couple times a year when I find out someone thinks they are good in Golden Eye. I played that game every day during 7th grade 1 on 1 before and after school vs. my friend.

I would be more than willing to accept challenges if there was a way to play online. Any mode, any map, any time…haha. Good times.

we used to spend hours with this game
and also perfect dark

My N64 sits proudly next to my PS3. I have two games for it: GoldenEye and Mario Kart. What else do you need, really?

Back in college, I used to play my roommates 13 because they were mediocre. Good thing their teamwork sucked!

Ogre Battle 64. . .

N64 was amazing. I remember getting to play Perfect Dark for the first time. I was pretty hyped, lol
