Man you just brought back some memories. We used to have Goldeneye parties that would last until either the sun came up or eventually a few of the guys playing would get pissed at each other and we’d have to break up the almost fight. Good times!
favourite level/mode combo was ALWAYS
stack on “man with the golden gun”. 20 minutes.
4 player.
also slappers only with one hit kills was intense! also on stack.
archives with proximety mines was good banter.
jtg, I suggest Halo 3, Call of duty 4, Assassin’s creed and GTA 4. Can’t go wrong with these no matter if you play online of offline (unless you really don’t like the GTA’s).
Halo 3 in coop with a friend while sipping beer is still the most fun I’ve had in a game, right next to golden eye and both the other halo games. I need to schedule a geek day with my buddy and just clear all 3 of them on Legendary mode.
there was another bond game too, it was sick. cant think of the name but it had a blue image on the cartridge.
N64 may be my favorite consol.
COD4 is he only game i think comes close to Goldeneye
oh shit, i just bought killer instinct gold for the n64.
no sleep for you

What was everyone’s favorite weapon/level to battle their friends at?
I was always partial to remote mines in the complex, first to 20 kills usually. [/quote]
Depending on the TV, Caverns can be a lot of fun, when no one can really see anything, and you can hide in shadows.
Mines on complex is pretty good, except there are too many bottlenecks and easy places to booby trap, as well the mines blend into the maps colors as well. So, it’s fun if you’re playing against people that know how to deal with mines, but otherwise, it’s just a mess.
I quite like the bunker, even though it is all corridors, there are enough rooms to sneak around in. However, depending on the mode, the best weapons are always in the control room which can be unfairly easy to turtle.
I always liked how the explosions kind of “hung around” for 3 seconds or so. So the grenade launcher, for example, could have 2 or 3 explosions going on simultaneously if aimed properly.
Haha it made it especially interesting on license to kill or -10 health when you accidentally “touched” the edge of an explosion right before it dies out and suddenly died.
All in all, an amazing game, but I can’t get the hang of the controls properly again after getting used to halo-like controls.
Just change them to mimic halo controls in the controller options menu!
Goldeneye was the shit in 98, and beyond. Gears of War satisfies my urge for that stuff.
Ever unlock 007 mode with the ultimate cheat on the gameshark? sweetness son

I think you’re talking about the trailer for a zelda movie that IGN made as an April Fool’s Joke. There’s no real movie coming. Although I wish there was, because the trailer is sweet. You can watch it here:

I wouldn’t challenge you either if you choose such stupid modes to play. GoldenEye is a great game that can require a good bit of skill, but for as good of a game as it is, it is equally unbalanced, some maps, modes and even characters are legitimately unfair to play on and will give one player a significant edge over the others.
Power Weapons and License to Kill is a joke. Come back when you are beating your friends 45-1 with pistols only and no auto aim.
The only objective that ever eluded me was the invincibility cheat on Facility. I think you needed to clear it in 1:45 on 00 Agent to get the cheat.

during these times i was also playing pocket gamebody i.e pokemon red, blue, yellow, pinball, dk 1,2,3, gold, silver
Good man, he was my character too.
I also was an oddjob man… i used to out on that permanent kneeling thing and i was nearly impossible to hit while i was moving!
Licence to kill
Proximty mines.
It would get to the point that you were to scared to move.
We also had a rule: NO ODD JOB.
I played as Baron Samedi, the Voodoo god of cemeteries, the man who cannot die.
Anyone play timesplitters 2 on xbox, ps2 etc.??? it was kind of same deal come multiplayer action. It was like the sequal to bond that never really happened. Blown away by how good that game was.
I never knew this when I originally played Goldeneye, but I have since learned that aside from Jaws and Oddjob having different hitboxes, various other characters also did. For instance, the female characters were all thinner, and generally harder to hit(especially head shots), also, that computer hacker and some of the staff characters were thinner as well.
Which is funny retrospectively, because I remember some of my friends would always choose xenia or whatever and then be like “xenia is my lucky character, I can’t lose!”
Interestingly enough, the goldeneye community still exists online and they have hacked the game to enable online multiplayer as well as map creation and modding. I haven’t looked into that though.
