Does anybody know what the cash prizes are for different places?
I’ve seen that the total cash prizes for this year for the Mr.O is $600,000.
Last years was divided up like this:
1st place $155,000
2nd place $90,000
3rd place $60,000
4th place $48,000
5th place $38,000
6th place $30,000
7th place $18,000
8th place $17,000
9th place $16,000
10th place $14,000
Don’t forget that certain supplement company sponsors will match their athlete’s winnings, so if Jay takes 1st, he’ll get another 155K from M-Tech. I’m sure other companies offer similar incentives.
“Last night a meeting of promoters, officials, and judges met to vote on important policy changes in bodybuilding, fitness, figure, and bikini. As a result of that meeting there will be a huge shake-up in the bodybuilding world. As of next year only the winners of pro shows will qualify to compete in the Olympia. That includes all divisions, and the only exceptions to this new rule are the Olympia and the Arnold Classic, in which the top three qualify. When I heard this, I figured that if the winner had already qualified in a previous contest the second place contestant must then qualify, right? Wrong. Only the winner qualifies, and if the winner already is, no one will be invited to the Olympia”
People will have to choose their shows carefully haha
Just for fun, I quickly read through last years Olympia thread (the pages where everyone was commenting on the live stream). Man, it brought back some great excitement not knowing who would win.
But the best line of anyone came from Akuma when he said, [i]"I’d Just like to mention that ive been talking with one of the judges on the panel. Apparently they all docked Jay 5 points for his massively “butt pounded” haircut.

Why ppl are defending Kai for fucking a grapefruit but talking shit about Jay’s hair is beyond me
Look, we’ve all had a moment of weakness during a dry spell… A bad haircut on the other hand is inexcusable.
In other news, tonight should be fun 'round here, lets all meet here for the base, post some pictures, and spend a night enjoying the sport we love without assholes giving us their opinions on how gross it is.
I’m gonna be watching the finals, but I can’t be arsed watching the prejudging. The webcast starts at 3 in the morning for me…
I really want to see Kai place on the top 3, with heath and cutler. He is always wearing that damn red sweatshirt so its hard to say anything before he steps on stage to “unveil his masterpiece”.
I don’t care if he got freaky with a grapefruit. He gets my respect for being so honest, insightful and passionate. Kai keeps talking about his ultimate goal, living life on his own terms, creating something from his own will. Its inspiring.
All phil talks about is twitter and jay cutler. It may sell merch, but its not very thought provoking. He does have freaky arms though. I think he used a pony to stuff them with.
I don’t get what is so special or insightful about what Kai says. It comes off sounding pretentious to me. Heath seems much more down to earth. Doesn’t really matter though personality is not judged.
yeah alot of what he says it a bit out there, and you can see in some vids he can’t help laugh a bit after saying some stuff.
Personality might not be judged, but the winner is weiders goldenboy, and to some degree, the face of competitive bodybuilding for a year. I think guys like cutler and heath might have it a bit easier just because they are easy to sell / appeal more to the mainstream crowd. Where there is money, there is politics/corruption
I feel like last years olympia thread was wayyy better because it seemed like it was gonna be a two man race between kai and jay. Love him or hate him (I hate him) kai is a polarizing figure and the same can be said for jay to a lesser extent. Everyone kinda agrees heath is a good dude and has a great physique.
