Mr. Hammond, the phones are working...

AH hA! I found an easier way to respond back to everyone, so here we go…

cholulalula: AWESOME KB idea!! Though how would I put it down when I am done my pull up set? This might turn out to be a me stumbling/falling on my face type dealio?? I love the prowler with all my heart, but this stupid trainer trains ALL his clients on it ALL DAY, so I am lucky when I get a chance to actually use it.

theperfectdrug: I think if I sit too much post workout I get lazy and unmotivated. I need to remember to keep my post work-out ass sitting fest to a minimum. I think that may help.

brute_fury: YEAH i hear what you are saying about the libido. I thought I was feelin’ pretty good about myself though, but I am typcially the same way. I don’t understand, I accept my body wayyy better now than I ever have in my whole life. I should be ravenous for sex, but instead I’m just a grump

Cal Jones:YEP taking vit. D. I always saw myself as a horny during winter type girl. I feel gross and burnt during summer time, LOL. I AM SO PALE i fry up like somethin’ awful. I dunno. Maybe it’s all the day time darkness or somethin’. That IS a downer indeed.

Hallowed: I have ALWAYS had a love/hate relationship with my bench. Somedays it’s freakin amazing, somedays it’s weak as shit. Bench is a curious mistress, I’ll give her that.

Edgy: HA! I love yerr sense of humour. I am laughing out loud on a daily basis thanks to many of your posts. (I do it in secret though, i am too lazy to just go around posting ha-ha’s all the time).

nlmain: Yeahhh, heh, about my program… will explain that one.

DixiesFinest: Oh my GORRSH ! My 2 year long cyber crush is posting in my workout log. CYBER BLUSHING! (it’s the same as real life blushing, but only your computer screen can see you) and YAY somebody knew where my journal title was from! I quote jurassic park a few times a week… heh.

mom-in-MD: YEAH i know it’s “o-k” but it’s just so ABNORMAL for me is all. I have always been a sex crazed maniac, even when I was a young, clueless virgin. Now I am still clueless, BUT WTF. I kinda just miss the feeling of actually wanting someone. It makes life soOOO boring, LoL!

OKAY SO YEAH I can update my log shizz now since my facebook scrabble isn’t downloading properly, ha-HA!

MY workout routine is INSANE, I have come to that realization anyway. I thought I was too obsessive to HAVE a routine, but maybe I am too obssessive to NOT have a routine. I end up adding shit and adding shit, and never remembering to take other shit away. My workouts, over time, get longer and longer and more and more overwhelming. I mean, i get there with the intention of only doing 5 excersies and I end up doing like 10 cause I see something and I think “ohh ya, i should do that”

Then I figure I should add some cardio, plus I walk home (i don’t drive) so by the time I finally get home I don’t even stop to think about how I’ve been busting my ass off for 2.5 hours and I WONDER WHY I FEEL LIKE DEATH. I sleep great though. I eat pretty low carb, but I’ve been that way for a while, and it makes me feel a lot better. i DUNNO, me=mental.

SOO NEW IDEA:

A semi-program, program. Implementing 5/3/1 (I had a dream about it last night) with some body building ideals thrown in since it wouldn’t be 5/3/1 without people changing around Wendler’s shit, HAHA.

Military press day+shoulder accessory+rear delt+HiiT (15mins) ONE DAY
Another day is DL day+hamstring accessory
Steady state cardio recovery day+ abs (I always want to do SS cardio, but I never let myself and make myself do HiiT instead. MUST RECOVER DAMMIT)
Uhh oh bench day+tri accessory
Back/bi+interval day
Squat day+quad accessory
SS cardio+abs

THERE??? Does that sound somewhat organized and not totally written up by a manic person with too much anxious energy? LOl

I really feel I’ve lost a bit of muscle over the past month or so, more than I have during this whole cutting thinger I’ve been doing. I want to get some strength back cause I miss it soo much, but I am scared to death of getting fat arse again. It’s different now though, I am still going to eat clean and I’ll keep doing cardio, so ya.

Whatcha ya’ll think??
I am also for the next 5 days eating over maintenance calories to give myself a diet breather/break.

good luck sticking to the non-program that is a program

only one way to find out…and will you be good about doing all the calculations and what not?

There is a calculator for the 531 program that was floating around that makes it easier…I think it’s this.
http://blackironbeast.com/5/3/1/calculator

I hear on the muscle. I want to keep mine but I also don’t want to be in the gym everyday for hours. I’m thinking my old roots of 5x5.

everyone is different.

If you still feel always tired, overworked and no mojo after a couple of weeks add food or decrease in the exercise.

also we say this all the time but are you taking your vitamin D and fish oil? real basic stuff to help at this time of year.

Wow, I am flattered, I really am.

As for your program, it sounds to me like you need to condition yourself to bust your butt with whats required, then go home. Do 5/3/1, do some accessory, then go home. 2.5 hour marathon sessions on low carb 6-7 days a week is most likely why youre so run down and your libido is flagging.

Try this:

Sun - off completely, go do somethin fun
Mon - 5/3/1 Squat and accessories
Tue - 5/3/1 Bench and accessories
Wed - off-ish (depends on feel, but NO WEIGHT LIFTIng, do cardio if anything)
Thr - 5/3/1 Deadlift and accessories
Fri - off-ish (same as above)
Sat - 5/3/1 MP and accessories

Thats 4 days weight training, 2 days possible cardio, and 1 day of total rest.

On the weight training days, go ovaries to the wall hard, on the possible cardio days, play it by feel, but given how youre feeling, err on the side of ss cardio or resting.

On Sunday, REST. Do something enjoyable.

STEADY STATE CARDIO: You asked me this in my log. The stairmill (moving staircase) is a cruel mistress indead. THE DEATHMILL.

I did NOT start out with 45 minutes. I started with 20-25. then 25-30. Then one day I get a new program from my coach and it says 30-45. OF COURSE I HAVE TO DO THE FORTY FIVE. That day that I jumped from 30-45 I walked outside the gym and barfed in the bushes. yay! glamour. The stairmill is a beast. Start with 20-25 minutes. Do that for a month them move up.

Oh and Dixies is right SERIOUSLY seven days is a complete no no. MUST BE ONE DAY COMPLETELY OFF no matter what.

FIN.

that’s the day you make use of your mojo

Welcome to the PW section, sounds like you are fitting in well. Agree w/DF, too much and you may be eating your muscle for energy.

I like 5-3-1. It has always worked for me. Workouts don’t leave me tanked and they are quick–leaves energy and time for other essential recreational activities.

Spock, You do need a rest day once a week. It’s not going to give you a fat arse.

Dan John had an article about getting more with less.

You have a very smackable/biteable arse, btw.

Just saying.

I feel like I got hit by a bus for 3 hours after I get home from the gym. It might be more anxiety related though? My nerves make me sleepy.

yes. especially after squats. increasingly after chin-ups. i actually go home and eat and nap for a few hours after the gym. really lucky i am in the position to do that. when i was working was quite into training in the early evening then eating then sleeping to get up early for work the next day. how much sleep are you getting? apparently 8 hours is ‘average’. heavy training… requires more, yeah.

How long is having zip zero zulch of a libido ‘ok’ until it starts to feel very off? I don’t think I have found a man attractive since uhh god… uhh fall sometime… I think it was fall.

hmm. are you not feeling attracted to guys you would have been attracted to in the fall or aren’t there any attractive guys around?? i go through phases and worry… but, uh, it turns out that there aren’t so very many guys who i feel attracted to. bizarrely enough… i’m actually not into girls… but there are a few really really really hot chicks at my gym currently. guys, not so much :-/

not sure about the repulsed thing… are the guys creepy??

LOl, sometimes I feel the same way. I see way more attractive women then men.
Maybe Alberta is just a shitty province for finding men, hA.

ALRIGHTY so I see the general consensus is that days off=required/sane/rational/normal/not fat producing!

Thanks for the advice everyone. You’ll be happy to know today I just did steady state cardio (and abs), so that’s a step in the right direction.
Though, I did have to see people lifting weights while I was doing it, so it kinda felt like a crack addict WATCHING her buddy’s getting high, Lol. I kept thinking “ffuuucckk, wanna lift, wanna lift. NO stay on bike…! STAY!!!”

Baby steps…

I need ideas about fun stuff to do that isn’t going to the gym, but it also isn’t sitting. I’m too manic for sitting.

I’m exctied about doing more heavy lifting again. This is going to be awesome to no longer feel like a weakling.

Thank goodness for you cyber people, you be fillin’ my lonely heart. That is a fact.

ALSO, HOW DA hell do you attach videos from youtube to a post?!

Just put the link in the post.

Do you like tennis or racketball? Those are things you can do for cardio that are more fun.

Well, I’ve found the male population to be quite lacking here. Too many boys and not enough men. Listening to the douchebag moves guys have pulled on my friends has not improved my opinion at all.

And yeah, now that I’m trying to build an ass, I have a lot more appreciation for those women who already do have one. Not batting for the other team though. I happen to like the equipment men are gifted with and there should only be one crazy person in a relationship: me!

I rarely see any suitable guys myself. At 44, the good ones are all married or cohabiting, thus leaving fat beer-drinking losers, guys much older than me, guys much younger than me and creeps looking for affairs. Which is why I’m a fag hag.

what kinda stuff do you think is fun aside from the gym? a class you’ve always wanted to take? A book you’ve wanted to read?

My “day off,” is spent going out on hikes/biking when it’s warm or in the cold months, baking.
If we move to FL I guess I’ll be baking less

Ouch. :frowning:

I’ve got to concur that not being attracted to MANY men is not disturbing. I’m in Cali and there are plenty of good looking fit men… for me to feel an actual physical attraction is more unusual. I would be concerned if I NEVER felt atracted to ANYONE though… I think. Personally I’ve probably got a bad case of one-itis.

They dude you found attractive in the fall… not attracted to anymore? Its really not that big of a deal though, libido can ebb and flow for a variety of reasons. This may just be a season of self focus for you. You’ve changed alot and been working on self improvement… a lack of outward directed energy makes perfect sense.
