What weight are you in your picture? Your profile says your 280lb. at 6ft but considering Ronnie Coleman would compete around there at 5’11 thats a little hard to believe
i noticed that too. if you take arnold in peak form, we was what 235-240 at nearly 6’2? you look good but you don’t look anything like arny! so i don’t see how you can be 280 at 6 ft.
Methinks the OP started this thread to draw attention to himself (that’s why he keeps mentioning the lack of members’ profile pics).
Yes, he’s built a fine physique in 6 years, and when you consider he joined T-Nation in '04 as a newbie, and up to now has only posted 6 times, it seems that he’s here for the accolades.
Well, thumbs up on your hard work and results.
Thumbs down on your rather useless thread, although you DID get my attention, so I guess you succeeded.
Once you’ve been around the forums long enough you know who’s advice to take. I really don’t even think the pictures are THAT important, most people still have stats listed and you can form your opinion based on that.
I usually just kind of sift through things, but I definitely pay attention to the vets. Bill Roberts, Prof X, cephalic carnage, brook, westclock, cortes, and tribunal dude come to mind. I’m sure there are plenty others, but that’s just off the top of my head.

and some did…
so whats your point?
you want some trophy or cookie for being somewhat more muscular than the average poster here…are you trying to draw attention to yourself because you’ve competed? Maybe your just trying to put people down…either way I don’t get it.
Come on dood I want more bodybuilders on this forum but whats up with that post?
However, I think that having people like myself on this website facilitates an exchange of information between the accomplished and the aspiring that can only be beneficial to the community as a whole.
Also, OP, good job on your accomplishments. Just get your head out of your ass.

x2 This site has helped me tremendously, but that doesn’t mean I have a physique worth showing off. The articles and the all the sound advice in the forums are great, but not everyone is a successful body builder yet. Plus, as many have mentioned, this isn’t a bodybuilding site,
“The intelligent and relentless pursuit of muscle”
Nothing about low bf

I am around 280 right now. I do bulk up (fatten up is more accurate) a bit during the offseason. You can check my facebook to see some offseason pictures.
I’m considering competing in an IPF powerlifting meet sometime this summer, so I would like to get down to 250, so I don’t look like a fat pig in my squat/bench/deadlift suits.

If you’ve ever been onstage at a bodybuilding show, you would realize thats about all the accolades you would ever need. Thank you for the positive comments though. I started college in '04 and never really got around to posting until now; because I recently graduated.

While I like to think that most of the folks overhere are certainly more willing to take an intellectual approach to their training, more often than not, they forget they basics of training and eating hard, and get all caught up in the latest article/study/b.s.
Still, I’d rather see younger trainers at least being exposed to some actual science early on than make some of the ridiculous mistakes and time wastings that I know myself (as well as others?!) have been guilty of. As far as the RMP forum, 9 times out of 10 it’s a complete waste of space for kids whose buddies tell them they look hyooge to go trying to get their ego stroked.
Rward0 - While the initial post you made seemed friendly enough, I’m detecting some real arrogance in the above comment… Not the way I’d recommend to make friends or influence people.

I totally agree with you. Great post. I’m sorry if I have came off as arrogant. I am honestly just interested in the previous questions I have posted.
Most people who post their physiques come off as self centered as well, but most of them look like 15 year old girls.
Nice work, best of luck in competition.
He’s made great progress. I doubt anyone would deny that. However, this thread was pointless. He could have just posted some contest pics in the physique pic forum.
Spending some time on this site would have clued him in on who actually lifts and who doesn’t.

Very interesting replies. Another thing I was pondering. Along with all the wealth of knowledge presented in some of the posts about the biochemistry of supplements and food… are a lot of people on here biochemists or registered dieticians?
What education do most people have on these forums? It would be interesting to see how credible some of the information posted on the T-Nation forum is.
Late to the party and still on the first page, but yes, there are a LOT of very well educated people on here. I’m on the academic side of the biochemistry, and there are lots of others who are smarter than I am here, or who work on the clinical side, or in research.
Generally I’ve found that this site is the most refined in terms of education and the level of info on biochem and nutrition that posters convey. I’ve been on others and to me I simply pay more attention to the people that post here on biochem.
As far as physiques go, I second pretty much all the candidates before.
One thing I’ve noticed with this forum is I have not seen many impressive physiques. A couple great ones I DID see were tfrench and curqleez, and I’m sure there are more I have not seen.
I’ve seen many people babble on about a lot of scientific topics regarding nutrition and supplements, but very few physiques; at least from what I’ve seen so far. On the “Rate my Physique” page, I saw many low scores. I’m wondering what the people that rate them look like.
Which members have the most impressive physiques on this forum? Are there any NPC nationals competitors on this forum? Any IFBB Pro’s? With all the wealth of information I see people discuss, I hope these are some physiques to back them up.
I don’t want to sound arrogant, I am just curious!
You inspired me to change my avatar, but I have to throw Marciano back up soon.
