I bring up that topic because the post was talking about impressive physiques and as I look on the rate your physique I see many people who are put down just because they do not the have the same mass as a juiced up lifter. Their results are impressive but since they decide to stay natural many people seem to put them down.

Wait…so people are put down simply because they aren’t big enough?
Do you have some examples of this?
Hell, one will do. I want to see the thread where the guy looks great, has clearly built himself up proportionally…but gets put down because he isn’t Ronnie Coleman.
The RMP forum is a joke to begin with but your perspective seems askew.
rmp sucks and sadly a lot of the bigger guys don’t post anymore they probably still log on read the articles but that’s it. guys like brandon curry are bashed off the site(last time i checked he was in the ifbb!!!) and whatever happened to dafreak?
Curry is contractually disallowed from posting on this site actually, although he wasn’t exactly embraced on it by the majority while he was actively around either =/
Mad Titan hasn’t been mentioned yet, he’s another dude that had a really good filled out look despite being a relatively light weight. Don’t think he’s been around for awhile either though.

I myself am a natural bodybuilder who wieghs 235 pounds at 6ft 2inches. Those stats are decent, I know I still have more room to grow and weight to gain to enter into the “BIG” club, buy those stats are really low if I tried to compare myself to a person who is juiced up.
So I say lets try to keep the apples away from the oranges.
I also note that I do not take any supplements of any kind nor protein supplements besides the daily multivitamin. I am proud to say that I came a long way from the days that I weighed 140 pounds at 6ft 2inches.
Sadly, the majority of the people who seem to be so obsessed with acting like every study they find is the foundation for a new school of thought apparently don’t have any of those credentials.
The more I listen to people who have been around the iron, and have walked a mile or two, the more I want to listen to the older guys and the guys who are knowledgeable about the history of building big ass muscles.
(Not to mention, I’d rather listen to the big fuckers, because, well it’s sort of obvious, rather than a twig that can quote an article I can read for myself.)
It just seems like every time someone mentions some new article or study, someone who has been around this game awhile mentions how that idea has been around since forever, just with a different name.
I don’t know, the more I read and listen, the more I’m beginning to think this whole thing is honestly a lot more simple than some people make it out to be. I mean really, it kind of seems like it keeps boiling down to “eat big, lift heavy shit, sleep, repeat.”
It just doesn’t really seem as complicated as people make it out to be. But I’m still a noob… What do I know?

Very interesting replies. Another thing I was pondering. Along with all the wealth of knowledge presented in some of the posts about the biochemistry of supplements and food… are a lot of people on here biochemists or registered dieticians?
What education do most people have on these forums? It would be interesting to see how credible some of the information posted on the T-Nation forum is.
This site attracts people in a variety of fields: doctors and nurses to lawyers and accountants (as well as cartoonists, telemarketers, computer repairmen, etc…).
Perhaps if you provide a link to the posts in question we would be better able to satisfy your curiosity,

I hear ya. I had specific posters in mind when giving examples of the educational background found on this site (the regulars here should piece it all together fairly easily)…and, yeah, I really would be surprised if any of the people I was thinking of were the ones chiming in on the threads in question.
Obviously, the people who have gone into advanced levels of education (and physical development) have developed the ability to differentiate between what’s great “in theory” and what’s great “because they can see it working in their own bodies and on the big guys”.
I read something along this line a while back so I may have my facts wrong, but isn’t meganewb on his way to becoming the strongest person under 18? Or am I mistaken? If so, that’s pretty damn impressive.

He’s the strongest person I’ve ever heard of under 18. That kid frightens me.
While I like to think that most of the folks overhere are certainly more willing to take an intellectual approach to their training, more often than not, they forget they basics of training and eating hard, and get all caught up in the latest article/study/b.s.
Still, I’d rather see younger trainers at least being exposed to some actual science early on than make some of the ridiculous mistakes and time wastings that I know myself (as well as others?!) have been guilty of. As far as the RMP forum, 9 times out of 10 it’s a complete waste of space for kids whose buddies tell them they look hyooge to go trying to get their ego stroked.
Rward0 - While the initial post you made seemed friendly enough, I’m detecting some real arrogance in the above comment… Not the way I’d recommend to make friends or influence people.

No one elected you as Lord & Master here, Sonny-boy, and no one is going to miss you either. You may have a good physique, but your thoughts are pure rot, Troller…
I’d suggest that you start looking at profiles. Lots of people have plenty of information about their education, personal stats and photos if you take a moment to have a look…
Of course, many do not, and they do tend to be the most vocal and obnoxious posters.
It does make you a bit suspect when a person has absolutely nothing about themselves in the profile.
What weight are you in your picture? Your profile says your 280lb. at 6ft but considering Ronnie Coleman would compete around there at 5’11 thats a little hard to believe

Some of the most helpful people on these forums don’t have pictures publically viewable… for their own personal reasons. Such as Cephalic_Carnage… who has a wealth of knowledge to share. His lack of avatar picture doesn’t take any credibility from his tips… to me. And if it takes credibility away to you… then man… you’ll be missing out.

Good post. Credibility certainly is an issue. With some time and patience you will be able to sort out the phonies from the “genuine article”. From the photos in your profile, it is clear which catagory you fall into. Great work and very impressive biceps perticularly.
Speaking for myself, I feel I need a certain amount of anonymity. I coach high school and college wrestlers. I teach self-defense classes to abused women and rape victims. I participate in MMA tournamnets and Strongman and Highland Games competitions, all over the country.
Primarily, due to my physique, I’m easy to identify in any situation where my body is exposed. I also post in the SAMA forum on occasion. I would not want a rape-victim or aspiring teenage wrestler , either of whom have likely been spectators at a MMA tourney, to identify me from a photo I’ve posted here.
Being a fan of OG’s boobs; making a comment of blowjob vs. hand job preference; and commenting about breast reduction proceedures, may marginalize me in their view. That would be unacceptable.
who’s to say that truely is him. It is the internet so what’s to say that the OP really isn’t a troll who got kicked off the sites he’s named so he jacked someone else’s photo to come here and act like he’s accomplished something.

Wow I would not have known any of that shit had I not just taken a NAZI history class. How do you know that shit? Its not really common knowledge to know the SA uniform color.
