Lord knows me and X don’t get along, but I think it’s kind of unrealistic to give out a hypothetical case study over an Internet forum. I mean, it’s pure miscommunication and is likely to be rife with missing information, unclear Dx - plus he hasn’t actually seen the patient.
I get case studies to work on in MNT all the time - it would be preposterous to ask me to do it over a message board with the minimal info given…

Dude, it’s not even that. Does he really believe cellulitis around an infected tooth is a rare occurrence? It really isn’t…AT ALL.
At least 2 patients today have come in with this and at least 5 a week.
These people are ridiculous.
you should be called professor hypocrisy not x,
where did I ever say this was rare??? we get a few abscessed teeth every night in my department, which is medium sized (we see about 50,000 pt a year)
it in not a silly scenario, if he wanted clarification or more details he could have asked. you dudes think I am making shit up…i could have given lab values, full st of vs, I see this shit every night.
?
I said it is rare because you acted like you needed to be in an ER to see it.
Any dentist sees this regularly…yet you claimed that one has to be specifically an oral surgeon to treat it?
Gee, yeah, if the airway is currently obstructed and their life is at risk. Othterwise, you take x-rays, scan it if needed and drain it while putting the pt on antibiotics…and even if they received IV meds, they would STILL need a precription making all of the noise you were talking just that.
I know this field better than you. Deal with it.
I have more knowledge about the human body than just teeth.
Deal with it.
you said: " Does he really believe cellulitis around an infected tooth is a rare occurrence"?
when my first post I said this “people with abscessed teeth are a fairly common in my ED”
again, your hypocrisy is overflowing. You complain of others poor reading comprehension when yours is pretty suspect yourself.
deal with it.
