Also, do you realize how common this is in dentistry? Every other patient we have comes in with this issue and we usually have x-rays and pans before I even walk in the room.

I get case studies to work on in MNT all the time - it would be preposterous to ask me to do it over a message board with the minimal info given…

Dont go here.
Hahahahahahahaha alright guys have fun, off to a Crawfish boil and try to get occupational medicine business.

Dude, it’s not even that. Does he really believe cellulitis around an infected tooth is a rare occurrence? It really isn’t…AT ALL.
At least 2 patients today have come in with this and at least 5 a week.
These people are ridiculous.
you X are the one who needs things written in crayon. reread first question. I already stated that pt would be put on abx WHILE WAITING FOR THE SCANNER
I asked WHAT ABX TREATMENT!!!
so you answered the question : what abx would you order" with " I would order abx" for such a fucking DUMB ASS you sure call a lot of people dumb-asses.

Lol - dude, I barely realize that forum exists. I don’t think I’ve ever even been in there…: )

To be 100% honest, I got better advice from Levelheaded on there about rehabbing my knee than 2 different physical therapist that I spent 10 in person sessions with each.
Not saying you were knocking the forum, just giving it the props it deserves.
Edit: I’ve since found a 3rd that is finally decent and getting me results. There’s a fuck-ton of clueless PT’s out there.

WTF?
Is the patient pregnant?
If so, what month?
What is the medical history?
What are they allergic to?
How old are they?
What is their BP?
Look, jackass, no doctor on the fucking planet worth anything is going to diagnose someone without the info given above.
I played your game because it was straight forward enough to have only one real answer. You are just pissed because it got answered.
Would I give Vancomycin to someone allergic to it?
Does it interfere with any other medication?
I even posted my cirriculum in school just in case you were wondering what I am skilled in.
Get a fucking clue.

you should be called professor hypocrisy not x,
where did I ever say this was rare??? we get a few abscessed teeth every night in my department, which is medium sized (we see about 50,000 pt a year)
it in not a silly scenario, if he wanted clarification or more details he could have asked. you dudes think I am making shit up…i could have given lab values, full st of vs, I see this shit every night.
neelydan is upset that the focus has been taken off the humiliation of the bodyguard

?
I said it is rare because you acted like you needed to be in an ER to see it.
Any dentist sees this regularly…yet you claimed that one has to be specifically an oral surgeon to treat it?
Gee, yeah, if the airway is currently obstructed and their life is at risk. Othterwise, you take x-rays, scan it if needed and drain it while putting the pt on antibiotics…and even if they received IV meds, they would STILL need a precription making all of the noise you were talking just that.
I know this field better than you. Deal with it.
I have more knowledge about the human body than just teeth.
Deal with it.

I dunno - just seems kind of spurious to deem him an incompetent medical professional based on that.
I’m sure you know your stuff HT, but in this case you seem so eager to “get” him that you’re really reaching to find him at fault just because he didn’t snap out the exact course of treatment you would agree with.
Is this thread legendary yet? Now we’re debating how to treat someone from a random internet post.

like i said ASS, you could have asked for as many descriptors as you wanted, and I would have provided them. we can do this all day if you like. Im not working today. besides taking my 200lb dog for a run and deadlift, I got nothing else to do.
I was giving you a chance to shut up all the other ASSES who think that just because you are a dentist you are not also a doctor.
any doc I work with could have answered that question, you could (as they probably would have too) asked more questions.
instead, you misread my post, and for somebody who complains A LOT about people misreading your posts you sure do a fair amount of it yourself,
yo played the “I’m far to superior to play your childish game and or stoop to your level” card that you always play when challenged by somebody who is not a newb who you outweigh by 150lbs.
there is one fucking way to get along with you on these boards, that is to agree with everything you say.
fuck that. I don’t get in to it with you that much because I do tend to agree with most of your training advice, in that people should eat more, and lift heavy and not worry so much about micro details of diet and the T-Nation routine of the day"
but your arrogance is beyond annoying, and I am not the type to be pushed around.
you flog people for lack or reading comprehension when yours is as selective as the next guys, and you get mad at people when they reference their occupation when you reference your own plenty enough.
fuck off and pretend I do not exist and I will do the same to you.

fair point, but I will say that it is NOT the tx that I agree with, it is the CORRECT treatment.
It seemed a pretty strait forward and easy to me. I thought he would snap out the appropriate abx therapy and then it would shut a lot of people up.
but he MISREAD my question, did not answer what I asked then pretended it was me who lacked reading comprehension.
arrogant X safe behind his keyboard as always.
I said this before, If more descriptors or info was needed, i would have obliged.
I also said this before, in another train wreck thread X was a part of, I wonder if he is so confrontational, insulting and reactionary in his personal and professional life too, if so, it is a good thing he is so damn big, otherwise that pretty face of his would have been messed up bad by now.

depends on what they are good at sam. I am certifed to intubate people, and it is within my scope, but I have intubated only about a dozen times in a 17 year career. despite that i am technically “qualified” to do it does NOT mean you want me doing it to you if you are in the ED and going into respiratory failure.
if your knee was do to lifting sports type stuff, PT’s who are more used to dealing with little old ladies who’s knees give out after 80 years are not going to do that much for you.,
Wait, HT is a doctor?
