Oh, and has ANY man survived being 50 and weighing 251lbs?

What in the fuck could have been said in the SEVEN new pages of this thread today that wasn’t beaten to death in the first 13??? FFS, now I remember why I never post in GAL…seems like a lot of people here need to take the forum title seriously…

I don’t see the need to call HT an idiot. You can disagree without name calling.

try harder.
I already stated the patient needed to be on antibiotics, I asked for the the specific course.
read some more.
i asked what TYPE of abx therapy, he answered : “abx therapy”
his first response was “are you serious” which was his usual condescending self, then he called me “dumb”
My first response to him I disagreed with his answer but did not insult, I actually said:
"stick with what you know, dentistry. that is plenty to be proud of, you make bank, have a nice clean quite work environment, probably bang your young lady hygenist at will, you win, stop trying to embellish your abilities.
so are you honestly saying that by telling him he made hella good money at a nice respected profession and bangs hot young chicks at will is insulting?
if you just want to pick a fight with me just come out and do it…don’t base it on something that does not involve you at all, this is between me and X.

Yeah, that’s the rumor that he was poisoned. It’s a shame.
MG, Serge was WELL under 250 pounds for his entire life, so I don’t think he has anything to do with what the OP is stating.

It is IMPOSSIBLE to have a serious discussion in these forums without someone building a STRAWMAN (someone take a drink) and misrepresenting your point. Impossible. I argued with lawyers for the last 20 years and even though most of them are lying cheating assholes, I guess I was spoiled because the average person cannot construct an intelligent fucking rebuttal.
If you disagree with me, fine. But at least don’t misrepresent my words to make your point.
The article, and my OP, were not about guys that were the “picture of health”. It’s about those guys that are the perpetual manatees - not the guys bulking to diet down. The guys that look like shit. I added my personal twist about my decision not to carry any extra junk as I age - it wasn’t a declaration that I had plans to get all Brad Pitt.
And finally, it occurred to me that some of you in this thread remind me of that joke about masturbating. In response to being told it would make you blind, they stated they would only do it until they need glasses. Funny joke, but sadly illustrates a basic human weakness - that until we are on the precipice of disaster, we rarely change.
Hopefully, none of you guys that aspire to be hyooge will go blind. Not that I’m seriously worried about most of you getting hyooge. LOL But the vampire dude is definitely in my death pool. And I remain hopeful that X will actually compete. I respect his work. I just don’t like some of the things he writes and I’m sure it’s mutual.
in your deathpool??? i find that funny considering you know nothing about me. like that i take about 12 grams of fish oils per day. that i routinely do cardio exercise after every weight training session. That i take more vitamins and liver pills and you name it i take it. just cause im a big guy, im in your death pool??? for someone who claims to be such a smart guy, you sure don’t base any of your statements on fact. before you deem someone unhealthy, maybe you should know a bit more facts.
You remain in my death pool. Ever been to a cardiologist? What is your blood work? Is your steroid abuse managed by doctors?
Hmm. Lemme guess. You’re self-managing your steroid abuse and you’re using “bro science” with regard to the “liver pills” because you obviously take orals. You have never had a stress test and your blood work, if you’ve had it recently, is out of range.
Amiwrong?
first off i have had a stress test a few years back. as far as managing things myself, of course i am. most drs don’t believe in supplements. if you have high blood pressure, do you think a dr. would ever recommend hawthorne berry or celery seed extract. do you think arnold or any of the old time bodybuilders had drs. helping them, are you serious. the only thing slightly out of range on my tests is liver enzymes. but even my dr. has said, that can happen just by lifting weights intensly.
I don’t need any more stress tests, cause i do regular cardio exercise. therefore i don’t need it. Now i could understand your point if i had something majorly wrong with me. but your talking about pretty tame things here. if you do the things necessary for good health, my opinion is tests are unnessary. again, your basing your death pool thing cause im big, thats it.
ok, you seem to be under this misconception that steroids are dangerous and your one of those guys that dramatically over exxagerate what steroids do. let me say this, steroids have never killed anyone. thats a fact. you show me one case where steroids alone have ever proven to a factor of death to anyone. nobody dies from steroids. period. anything thing they do cause, can be easily treated with other supplements.
and please, don’t tell me how dangerous orals are, your one of those guys that over exxagerate everything. can they raise blood pressure, sure, can they raise triglyercide levels, sure, BUT, can fish oils counteract both of those, yes, they can. can celery seed extract lower blood pressure. its been proven to be just as effective as presription meds in head to head tests. so any negative thing that roids do, i take something to counteract that.
RV, I can agree to a minor degree with a very small portion of this post, I have to ask :
Are you actually trying to say that taking both oral and injected steroids can be used indefinitely as long as you take the right supplements? AND, steroids ARE NOT dangerous?
Do you get regular blood tests?
If you could clarify this, i’d appreciate it.

people call names on the internet all the time…not surprising, but pretty sure X does not need him to defend him.
btw…
YES you can approach middle age and be over 250lbs and be healthy, but not very many can do it.
depends on the quality of that 250lbs, and your frame. I knew a 56 year old at diablo barbell who was 330lbs of solid muscle. 500lb raw bench and 800lb raw squat(off a box). solid fucking muscle, but he was already having health problems(heart and kidney)
he was only 5-9" and 330lbs.
a person who stands well over 6’ tall can handle more weight better IMO.
but there are exceptions and people who are off the curve so to speak of course.
I personally FEEL much better at 230 than I did at 260. (I am 5-6") but my lab work is not any better, but my pain issues in my feet and knees, and sleep apnea issues have gotten much better.

I did not intend my first rebuttal to sound insulting, but I can concede that it might have came off that way. I do not mind clarifying, but when you start calling me a complete fucking idiot, well then, like I just said
fuck off.

Bodybuilder
Noun
Thats great. Let me go scrape up a few thousand bucks and publish my own dictionary. By that definitipn football players powerlifters strongmen are all bodybuilders.
Useless post is useless
Yes Bonez on its own that post maybe wasn’t much help but explains the publics misinterpretation of bodybuilding.
This definition is responsible for the general publics misconception of bodybuilding. If Joe average sees a jacked up guy swaggering down the street in a tight t-shirt they will likely assume he is a bodybuilder because it is apparent he does weights. An easy mistake for the uninitiated to make IMO. People in ‘the know’ obviously have a much more sophisticated understanding of weight lifting related endeavors, although a bulked up ‘off season’ bodybuilder may well look like, and be reasonably mistaken for a powerlifter.
If a writer writes for ten years before he becomes published does he only become a writer the day he gets his book published and starts earning royalties? I would say he becomes a ‘professional’ writer that day, if he only had articles published then maybe he becomes an ‘accomplished’ writer that day.
When a guy enters his first bodybuilding competition does he only become a bodybuilder that day? No, he becomes a competitive bodybuilder that day, if he places or wins something then he is certainly accomplished to a degree at least (anyone who steps on stage or into a ring or pursues their endeavors with a passion wins my respect) and when/if he starts making his living out of it he then becomes a professional bodybuilder.
So yes, I think you can be a bodybuilder without competing.
Youre equating writing professionally with professional bodybuilding. The caveat is that amateur bodybuilding exists. NPC. THose guys dont make money like the published writer does.
Ive said it once before. Analogies arent going to work here. Bodybuilding is a unique endeavor.
Your analogy would work if you compared the guy who has notes written down of all these ideas about character development, plot lines, chrolongy of events to the guy who actually takes those notes and puts it all together into a book (physical version or on a computer). Getting published equates with turning pro, not with stepping on stage. Youre not a book writer (or poetry writer; same criteria as above, or article writer, etc) until youve actually written the book.
Im not criticizing your analogy, Im just showing you how it doesnt apply. I cant think of one analogy that works. If you can, go for it. Im interested. Maybe it’ll change my mind about the definition of a bodybuilder.
