hey all, you probably dont know me, i have been a member since 2002, and lately a regular in the over 35 lifter section. i am an old power lifter/Olympic lifter/ thrower who is just trying to get in the gym every now and then without hurting anything else, lol.
but my girl of 5 years is a pretty good lifter/athlete, and has been training with me for as many years.
she was sort of a jock in high school, playing basketball, volley ball, soccer and cheering. she played one year of college basketball and a small college in southern California.
she is now a 36 year old mother of two, a pretty darn good registered nurse working 12 hour night shifts in an intensive care unit, and still manages to train nearly every day.
there are some pics and videos of her lifting in my profile page.
the last year or so, her training has been pretty much a cross fit type regimen, mixing endurance work, metabolic conditioning(HIIT), olympic lifting and the power lifts weekly.
she is too embarased and modest to publish her own log, but every-day she amazes me at her drive to train hard and get a little better each day and challenge herself.
this log is my way of showing my appreciation of how hard she works to take care of her body and push herself.
i will with this week.
sun-
superset split squats with body weight and pushups, 12 reps on the split squats, 7 reps on the pushups, for 20 minutes straight. little to no rest.
monday-
played soccer in an over thirty womans rec leage
tues(today)-
the “cross-fit total”
worked up to a max in:
back squat 245lbs
bench 135lbs
deadlift 220lbs
i was pleased with the squat and bench. the deadlift is off for her, she has had some low back issues the last few weeks.
