I broke one of my fingers on my left hand and had to get surgery done. My hand has been in a cast for the last month and will be for another 3 weeks.
I’m wondering what I can do to minimize losses during this phase. I’m eating well, lotsa casein and good diet overall. Now that my hand has started to heal, I’m even thinking of starting some bodyweight speed squats etc.

This is true. I have read studies where overall atrophy can be reduced or reversed when the uninjured side in continually exercised. It points to the neuromuscular connection playing more of a role in growth than many realize.
