Me three, and the hormone theory is pretty lame. You guys need to give your liver more credit.

The same thing is happening to you, as the steroids, antibiotics, and growth hormones from the cows are making it into your body and messing with your normal hormone levels. However, this does not mean you have to eliminate milk from your diet.
Health food grocers such as Whole Foods and Trader Joe’s carry lines of milk that are from cows that are free of steroids, antibiotics, and growth hormones, similar to the way that stores are now selling grass fed beef. They are of course a little more expensive, but our bodies are with us for life, so whats a little more coin matter?
Whole Foods is your best bet to find high quality milk. Hope this helps.
Best,

Thanks WC7 thats some good advice. Might try and find some of that milk that is free of steroids.
The quantity of hormones found in milk is so small that they are unlikely to be the culprit.
It’s more likely that you are allergic to one of the proteins in milk. Casein is the most likely culprit, but you could be allergic to any of them.
Not true at all, there is plenty of published literature backed up by studies that show very noticeable amounts of hormone altering compounds in milk. Think about it, cows are being shot up with everything possible to increase their size and production, and you are drinking the milk that that animal is producing. The studies are out there, go read 'em.
So then how come people don’t get huge from drinking a bottle of trenbolone or testosterone? Forget getting huge, do you even know the bio-availabilty of oral administration of hormones that are prepared for injection?
What the hell is a “very noticeable amount”? Are you making this stuff up as you go? Experiencing hormonal alteration from drinking milk that comes from cows who have been given a mix of testosterone and estrogens implies that the human body does not break down these chemicals upon ingestion. Thankfully, that is not the case.
And btw not everyone who uses steroids gets acne.
I never claimed to know about bio-availabilty of oral administration of hormones that are prepared for injection, and to tell you the truth I don’t even know what trenbolone is. I simply made a comparison that is true, don’t go all crazy because I’m not an expert on steroids, when I never claimed to be. Not everyone is affected by milk, and yes, not everyone gets acne from steroids, there are a million examples of something not affecting everyone. What’s the point of making random claims like that? Not everyone who takes meds prescribed by doctors gets better, bid deal?
I simply said that hormones from milk can affect the human body, and skin, which is true, and that these side effects are similar to those that are experienced when taking steroids (imbalance in normal hormone levels). Take a deep breath, and calm yourself, and when you have, you can read the article I posted above.
Here is another link with medical studies concerning hormone levels in milk, starting with prenatal effects and ending with bioactive components in milk.

I wasn’t looking to rile kids up, just bringing up a point, as I was effected in the past by milk and dairy products, and think it is prudent knowledge for anybody experiencing problems now.

I encourage everyone to read the article this guy has posted.
You apparently have no idea what you read in that article. No where in the article does it say anything about exogeneous hormones and their relationship to milk safety. The article points out that milk has high levels of estrogen because it is being taken from PREGNANT COWS. Don’t go saying that that is what you meant by ‘hormones’ because you have already stated that
hormones from milk can affect the human body, and skin, which is true, and that these side effects are similar to those that are experienced when taking steroids (imbalance in normal hormone levels)
. ‘Taking steroids’ does not include men taking estrogen. The article said nothing about ‘side effects’ of drinking milk either. Using the term “imbalance in hormone levels” is the worst description of AAS related side effects Ive ever heard. A change in hormone levels is the PRIMARY effect of steroid use and you certainly cant claim that people who drink milk are seeing AAS user results. I don’t think I have to go in to the fact that acne is a side effect of androgen use and not estrogen.
You posted an article written by a third party about a study that does not even apply to the discussion of this thread. There is nothing cited in that article and quotes from the person running the studies are scattered throughout the article. There’s no possible way to get the full meaning of the preliminary study from that 500 word article.
You are actually taking a stronger stance on this claim than the person who conducted the study. If your point was to point out that Americans may get cancer from environmental sources of estrogen, ok point taken. It’d be silly to take this information any further than that.
Thanks for the responses guys. I think ill just stop drinking milk.No big deal.Id rather have clear skin then popping big ass pimples that could scar every week.
I may be mixing up the terms, as a result of me being no expert in the field. Also, I already admitted that I am very ill informed about steroids, so excuse my mixing up their effects and how they work.
My aim was to confirm that milk can have an affect on acne, to give a reason why this might be true, and how to avoid it.
…most people have either a lactose or casien allergy. almost everybody. the acne is a result of one or both of those allergies. It just manifests differently in different people. Not sure I would worry about the amount in a shake; unless you are drinking like 5 a day…which indicates a whole nother problem if you need that many. There are good ones that don’t need mixed with milk.

Me 4. Shit works. I’ll take the pimples too.
I don’t know about you guys, but all I is that, while I was drinking milk for years and years, I always had bad body acne. Then I went on accutane. Coincidentally, I also stopped drinking milk for dieting. I went off accutane after 1 month because the doctors are retarded by thinking that just because my creatinine levels are high due to creatine that my liver and kidneys must be bad even though studies show that creatine does not harm the liver or kidneys.
Anyhow, my acne cleared up immensely in that month and has stayed away for the most part. I don’t know if it was the accutane or if it was the milk, but I’d rather not risk it. I get my calcium in anway through pills.
Hell guys, you must have had the bad genetics for drinking milk. I have mild, teenager body acne even while drinking a lot of milk and none of the horrible face acne you can see around, just the usual stuff.
Might want to try something a little easier than cutting out a healthy musclebuilding food from your diet. Mabey an acre wash or something of the sort, or mabey go for a more reasonable explanation, like your lactose intolerant, and switch to lactose free milk. The hormones that are fed to cattle can not make their way into a human because they are only effective intra venously, so there’s nothin to worry about on that front.
Not shaving frequently enough causes face acne for me. Milk doesn’t though.

Lactose intolerance gives you the shits.
I drink lactaide and my back looks like I’m 14 years old. It isn’t the lactose that makes you break out.
Try raw milk, it is much healthier for you and less likely to cause an allergy. Watch the calories though, full fat means more calories.

Ive tried lactose free milk.Same results as normal milk(pimple wise). So scratch that one off the list.

As the other guys who posted below you said, it’s not the lactose. If I were lactose intolerant, I’d be dead right now because I was drinking 1 5/8ths gallons of whole milk per day at one point (not my brightest idea).
Besides, milk bloats me, gives me water retention which makes me smooth and makes me sluggish, not to mention bad breath on top of spiking insulin like mad due to milk’s unusual insulin-spiking properties that can lead to insulin resistance. Even skim milk’s not that clean of a protein source.
I think I even read that milk also slows down the uptake of fast-digesting proteins. No more milk in my diet outside of an occasional treat. There’s just so many better options.
