Meltdown vs WSB

I think I’m posting more for reassurance than anything but here goes… I just came off an 8 month stint of WSB style training. At 6’6 320 it defintely helped my size, density, and strength.
On the downside, I’m probably around 13-15%BF. I aim to have that down to about 8%.
I started the Meltdown training a week ago and I will say the cardio portion of it kicked my ass. What I don’t have is the pump and feeling I got from the WSB style.
Has anyone used these 2 routines together and if so what were your results? How much in terms of strength and size did you lose in relation to the fat weight you cut? Any answers would be appreciated.

Change your diet!

Keep westside or look at different destinations article by CT, so you keep the strength you gained.

DO NOT switch from WSB to Meltdown Training as written! (we’re talking Meltdown 1, right?) You’ll lose all the strength you gained. If you want to do Meltdown, you must incorporate at least one heavy session per week to keep your strength. I am currently experimenting with 2 heavy days, 1 Meltdown day, and 1 HIIT sprinting day per week. We’ll see how it turns out, but no complaints so far.

i would not do that if i were you. you will lose a lot of strength that way. weight training is for strength and hypertrophy, not fat loss. you can easily lose that amount of fat through diet.

try meltdown 2 if you want to lose fat and still get strong. Diet is definitely important but the meltdown 2 program will definitely kick some ass. You might be big and strong but that does not mean that you are in shape. I would suggest HIIT training to get you going. laters pk

Good thread but I’m confused. Doesn’t Alessi say that although there will be some strength loss in Meltdown 1 but it shouldn’t be significant? Meltdown’s an asskicker(the fat peels off) but I don’t want to stay on it if it’s going to cause me significant strength loss. Anybody got any ideas how to keep strength while on Meltdown 1? Patman, keep us up to date on how the 2 heavy and 1 meltdown day works out for you.

I would stay on WSB and change your diet up acordingly to lose fat. You may also want to add some sprint work, HIIT, or IBUR for “cardio” Look at the photo section for “Jackass” I believe he said that he does WSB and is strong and ripped.

Keep WSB and get on Dawg Diet 2.0. That’s what I did in the past. It’s mainly the diet that makes the biggest difference, not the workouts. In my experiences, powerdrive and E/C helped me tremendously as far as getting through the workouts. I’m not sure if r-ala will help. CT used it and he doesn’t have the greatest genetics as far as being naturally lean so try taking r-ala before consuming high carbs meals (breakfast and post workout drinks). it might work better for those who have the tendency to gain fat easily than those can eat all they can and not gain one once of fat. That’s my guess.

I agree with some of the other posters. I would suggest using Interval running to lose fat and keep your strenght, I think CT talks about such a program in a Running Man article?
