HOPE THIS HELPS THIS PROGRAM IS AN ASS KICKER BUT IT WORKS! NOW ON TO PHASE 2 THE 16 WEEK GET BUFFED PROGRAM. KRAIGY
I tried it three months ago for five weeks. It helped me get down to my 5 mm. ab skinfold when I had been stuck at 8. In fairness, however, I think part of it had to do with the insane cardio intervals and the fact that I lowered my carbs down to the 50-70 range. I think it is good for fat loss, but I prefer to use heavier weight and lower reps as I maintain strength much better.
Actually it was 6 mm. on the abs instead of 5…my bad.
What was your method for testing bodyfat?
Due to the lack of response, should I write this program off as not being effective?
No, it’s just that this program has been the topic of discussion so much that most people are tired of talking about it. Try the search engine. I think there was even a Meltdown support group. It’s a great program, one of the best I’ve used from T-mag.
I don’t think you can write it off as ineffective. I just don’t think that many people have done it for the extent of time that you requested or have taken all the measurements that you wanted to see. There have been past threads on this topic, but I know the search engine has been a little sketchy lately so good luck.
Tanita TBF-611 I am not sure how accurate it is but I am having my BF% tested next week at a local hospital using the emersion method for $ 40.00 so we shall see.
Im not a fan of lactic acid.It has detrimental effects on strength and provides the body with an alternative fuel source.I hope nobody is trying to get into ketosis with this program.Am I alone on this?
no your not alone on this… bro, do some research all the stuff your asking for has already been answered and beaten down with a broom stick… just type meltdown training and READ! You’ll have fun cuz it’s got all your answers.
WSTrainer you are not alone. I have written on this exact topic that I don’t think Meltdown and ketogenic diets would work together very well. I still don’t understand why Alessi recommended the T-Dawg diet to go with this program. A diet that is moderate to high in carbs would be much better suited to reap the benefits of lactic acid.
I started Meltdown 3 weeks ago. I was 165 @ 13% BF using the 3 location caliper method. I took my measurements before I started, but they are at home. I rechecked all my measurements after two weeks and was 165 @ 9% BF. I lost an inch in the waist and gained 3/4 inch in the chest and all other measurements stayed the same. I am currently on week 3 and I definately look leaner. I am doing the Don’t Diet plan @ 1500-1200 calories. Supplements: Week one and two-Tribex(4 a day), Myostat (2 a day), T2-Pro (3 a day), and MD6 (6 a day). Cycled off Tribex and MD6 on Sat. and Sun.
Week three-Same except switched Tribex for Androsol (35 sprays morning/35 evening). The program really does kick your butt if you do it right. It was hard to drink my post workout shake because I was trying not to throw up. I don’t think I would want to try it on a keto diet.
I did do an engine search on the topic(went thru It twice now)and all I found that people were posting that they were going to try the diet.Jason,It looks like we’re on the same page about lactic acid, especially on a keto diet. Thanks to all those that responded.
Depends on which version of the T-Dawg diet he’s using. The new version uses 100 grams of carbs per day and Surge. So, that’s not “keto” is it?
The new T-Dawg may have enough carbs, but it would be right on the border. It does not seem to have enough carbs to support maximal production of lactic acid. Don’t Diet approach with more like 200g carbs a day seems better suited to me and is what I’m doing with Meltdown right now.
Couldn’t say it better my self.I have never been a beleiver in lactic acid training programs(meltdown ang g.b.c).I only train my clients like this when there primary goal in life is to lean out and their diet sucks, but for strength,I beleive a program like this will screw you up in the short and long term .Isnt it better to be strong and ripped instead of being weak(overtrained?)and ripped?
I was considering 6 weeks of Meltdown Training to lean out get in good general physical condition. Do you still think this short period would affect long term strength gains if the meltdown is followed up by, say, Maximum Weights?
While I agree with you that Meltdown is not intended for strength gains or even lean mass gains, I still think that it can be an effective program for fat loss, especially if combined with a good diet.
As for me, I'm trying to strip off as much fat as I can before I go all out with a hypertrophy orientated cycle, so I think that Meltdown can be a good choice. For instanc
Just as a side note, where can I find information about the Don’t Diet? I can’t seem to find out anything when I do a search…
