Meltdown training then what?

hi, quick question… Im currently doing meltdown training, on my 2nd week… before that, (I wasn’t cutting) German Volume training, before that I did ian kings, specialized program and did reps for 10ish… i did the hypertrophy option, before that… I did HST, and before that, i did, all of ian kings programs, from great guns to super strength… Right now im cutting for the very first time ever… im about 17 percent bodyfat… anywase, pretty much for the last 2-4 months i’ve stuck with 10 reps… (meltdown, and GVT, etc, are all around 10 reps)… anywase after I complete meltdown training, would you guys recomend going the low rep range for a change. like the 5x5 system, remember, im trying to keep as much muscle as possible… or should I go onto meltdown training 2, body comp, fat to fire… What program would you recomend for cutting…

Thanks for your time…

Do Meltdown training until your BF% is around 12%. Once there, THEN embark on the 5x5 program. Also include some type of high intensity interval training of jumping rope or sprinting. This will assist you in leaning up while maintaining your LBM.

I think they’d all work. Personally, I’d just go right into Meltdown 2, but F2F could be a welcome change. But it’s not as if one of those three programs is going to hurt your progress; you’ll benefit from whichever one you choose. On a side note, don’t use three “periods” when one will do; and it is spelled “anyways.” I’m not trying to be a dick; I’m just telling you this so the grammar police and chief lightandfruity don’t hound you. Good luck.

My favrite program for strength that also gives good hypertophy is Poliquins 1-6 principle.

Im looking for an answer on this also…
im going to do 3 weeks of meltdown 1 then 4 of meltdown 2…probably take a week off…hows west side sound for 9 weeks after this???

what supps while west siding??im 18

i agree with cardawg, i had pretty good results with the 1-6 method. actually, the best one ive done is poliquins 2,1,1,1 drop set workout. my weights went through the roof on that.

I emailed Don Alessi about the results that I got with Meltdown1&2. He suggested that I do 1 week of training with the same exercises for 1 set 25 rm, then going back to Meltdown 1, and the results would be pretty good.

Paul, sorry to sound dumb, but I don’t understand what you mean?

Garret, sorry I wasn’t very clear in my 1st post. I did the 2 Meltdown protocols back to back while I was on a ketogenic-style diet, and MD-6. Don suggested to do a 1 week cycle of the same exercises used in Meltdown 1, but to just do 1 set of each exercise, 25 reps. Then to go back to the original protocols. I had already lost all the bodyfat that I intended to, and had already started another training cycle, so I wasn’t able to do that. But give it a shot, and let us know how it worked. Good luck.
