He’s probably thinking that he shot the wrong racist white guy at the end of Lethal Weapon 2

Why yell when you can be passive aggressive?

What is a sign that a relationship is in trouble?? If nobody screams or disrespects eachother??
Yeah, something like that. It has something to do with the two not having enough passion in their relationship, or not caring enough about each other, or some other types of shit that I don’t remember. At the time it sounded like it made sense.
I do remember hearing something along those lines, but if I remember correctly, it was when there was no arguing in a relationship, and not screaming.

No arguing makes sense in that it would be a sign that they have emotionally checked out of the relationship, no longer caring what the other person does or thinks.

However, people can argue without screaming, insulting, or passive aggressive behaviour.

Aside from that though, the debate over yelling/not yelling is not the same as what is being reported about him.

I have never heard of anyone (normal) screaming “I’ll put you in a fucking rose garden, you cunt” to a girlfriend.

X2

I was going to say, maybe not arguing is a sign of a problematic relationship, but to say that if you don’t scream at one another then there must not be any passion is faulty reasoning. Thats like saying if a pitbull doesn’t attack other dogs it doesn’t have drive. There are plenty of ways to display a passion for one another other than yelling. I think ANY relationship where anger allows the individuals involved to lose respect for one another and start cussing and insulting eachother is crappy relationship. I don’t care if they’re toghether 100 years, a good relationship should be based on respect first and foremost. Mutual respect will keep a relationship from facing a lot of the problems MOST relationships face due to lack of respect.

Examples:
If you respect your girl you wouldn’t cuss her out or insult her.
If you respect her you would be more considerate of her feelings.
If you respect her you would rather end an unhappy relationship then cheat.
If you respect her you would want to build her up not tear her down.
If you respected her lying loses it’s appeal.

^Mutual respect for one another simplifies a relationship more than any other emotion IMO. Respecting someone and their feelings can take a relationship much furthur and you would be much happier then love alone.

It’s awesome and a huge sign of inner strength that you broke the cycle instead of keeping it going. To people who grow up in those types of situations that IS normal. It says a lot when someone grows up with that being the norm and saying “NO. This is NOT the norm. I do not want to live this way”. Congrats on you and your girl stopping the cycle.
Thanks, I appreciate it. It was actually my sister who caused me to decide to break the cycle. I used to have a really bad temper and was always getting in fights, I actually loved feeling like a baddass. Til one day my sister confessed that she was afraid of me and didn’t want to go out with me anymore, because she was afraid I’d start problems with the wrong person and get us both killed.

After that day I realized how bad my temper had become and my sister was right for not wanting to be in public with me. Now it’s pretty difficult to piss me off.

This is funny because my sister had a tremendously nasty temper up until her late twenties. The littlest things would set her off and once she got going everyone would just get the hell out of the way. She would start fights with complete strangers over the dumbest shit ever. I HATED going out in public with her because 90% of the time she would start some shit, then expect ME to jump in and join along with her.

One afternoon, we were in our teens, we were waiting at a bus stop and this veterano was waiting there with us. He was just standing there, didn’t even look over at us. My sister just flipped out on him for NO FUCKING REASON! She got in his face, screaming at him then she started pushing him daring him to hit her. It was fucking humiliating. The dude just stood there and took it, didn’t really even say anything, I think he don’t spoke English though. I had to grab her and drag her away and take her to the next bus stop.

Turns out this guy was a member of one of the local HB gangs, we didn’t see him for almost a month when he spotted us walking home from school. He was with two other guys. I had never been so scared in my life. They surrounded us while we were walking across the baseball field, one of them pulled a gun on me, one of those small silver ones. I totally thought I was going to get shot because of what my sister had done almost a month earlier. Shit was fucking crazy. Then, like a fucking miracle, one of those bulldozer things, the one with the crane on them, drove up out of nowhere and started screaming. They took off, we both looked at him and started gushing at this guy thanking him, it was like straight out of a movie - I’ll never forget it. Scariest walk home from school ever.

Anyways, that didn’t stop her temper. She was always getting in fights with people. My sister is fucking nuts. She made one of her boyfriends cry in front of everyone while we were at a bar. She was always getting into physical fights with her boyfriends, it was almost like a role reversal, where my sister had the biggest balls of every guy in her life.

She pretty much calmed down after having her second kid. She’s still crazy though.

Sorry for derailing, I just thought it was funny how our stories are kinda similar only your sister calmed you down, and my sister is the crazy one.

I refuse to argue. If I am with someone who even makes me argue in a heated battle of words, I get rid of her. I am all about “peace” in my life right now and can’t stand drama. Unfortunately, I am not sure where you other people live who never see this, because my experience is that most of the women IZ crazy.

I swear…one day…I will find a NON-crazy woman…And I will do her until she can’t be done no more.
No offense but even if you do find this perfect NON-crazy woman, which do exist as I am married
to one, and by chance get married you will end up arguing “in a heated battle of words” But I am sure you knew that already…as long it stays at that a little arguing once in a while is healthy.
