This is my third week of doing these as an ME movement. I hit 290x1 on the first week, 305x1 on second. I think my form kinda sucks. Not kicking my ass back far enough, and my back is rounding. Looks like I may have the bar a little high, too. What do you all think?
That’s not bad for a narrow stance GM. There are TONS of ways to do GMs. There’s not an exact right way to do them. If they make your deadlift and squat go up, then you’re doing them the right way for you.
the bar rides on my neck if it’s that high… usually i put it lower than low-bar squat position. and yeah, there’s lots of ways to do GMs but you don’t have to go that low. i bet if you take a low bar position and don’t go down so low, it will work out better for you.
I like wearing the bar a little lower for heavy GMs. You’ll handle more weight. It will probably not shift around on your back as much. You’ll also probably have an easier time staying tight in your core/lower back.
Thanks for the input guys, it’s much appreciated. I am following http://www.elitefts.com/documents/9week-training-program.htm, but I’m doing the 6 week bench cure for the upper body stuff… and I’ve skipped the lower DE days, just out of laziness. :-/
I figured I had the bar up high. This is the position I put the bar when I squat, actually. (Video of 405x6 is in my profile, in case anyway cares to look at that.)
