Eco - No rest between exercises in a superset, then about 45 seconds between supersets. I try to keep cranking 'til I’m done.

Thanks, Joe.

Joe - you’re kicking my butt again!

George, I’m Kevin. Or just mathineer. I’m not a fuzzy Kevin with a square mouth and sharp teeth, but a Kevin nonetheless.

sorry Kevin - I knew that but mis-read the “Thanks, Joe” as a sign off instead of thanking Joe.[/quote]

Yeah…the “Thanks, Joe.” threw me as well, as I was pretty sure that wasn’t math’s name.

I know I do!
Being “Skip” sux! Maybe I will legally change my name to “Strick”. Or maybe just do it on the fly and quit responding to anything else.

Did you say power factor???

or was I just being nosy, I spend a good bit of time with generators- at work
and get to “play” withe the bigger kind lots of interesting electric junk there,
delta, Y typically I am in the 3 phase 1200-2000amp range for a med show.

My dad was a Math professor, and I am dyslexic go figure.

I decided to switch to a 3 day split: chest and back; shoulders and arms; legs. I’m sticking with the Hepburn progression on the heavy lifts, but increasing the intensity on the pump sets (or BBB, or whatever you wanto to call them). I expect a visit from the Doms Fairy tomorrow.

Kevin, yes, I did say power factor!

Thanks for visiting!

kevin, the mathineer

Nice work, math. Hopefully the DOMS fairy is kind…or at least cute.

Nice work Kevin!

looks like your training is going well.

you have no idea how cool power factor is,
when electrician’s ( entertainment TV types) talk about this
its a huge geek fest!!

For our big switchmode converters, we get about 0.99 PF at full power. If you’re pushing 2 KA at 480 3-phase, that’s some serious power. Is that the phase current?

Oh yeah, did I earn my geek badge?

geek away!!!

not always phase current.
power factor comes into play with us with dimming- if its straight power say for large lights-
12k or 18k (12,000) watts they have electronic ballasts.

for lights on dimmers we use a 3 phase 400 amp system per large rack- big shows get big,
and moving fixtures like what you see at concerts - something between the dimming and the moving lights
makes power factor go crazy.

  • slowly backs away from computer*

I have the feeling you can keep this up all day:)
but its cool to know what you do.

Good workouts. All your lifts are looking good. Shoulders really seem to be coming along. Lateral and bent raises with 40# is very good. Hey, I like to rub my feet on the carpet and shock people. Does that count for electro geek stuff? Not, huh?

OG - Thanks for the kind words.

Hel - Sounds like you’re a lot of fun at parties in the wintertime! Shocking!
I’m probably cheating the laterals a bit. Shoulders were a bit sore today.

22 sets of squats (variants included)?? You are a masochist. Great work, math. Seriously hardcore.

But, if I’m doing it to myself, does that make me a sadist too?

Hmmmm…

Well, if you enjoy causing the discomfort, but only do it to yourself because there is no one else available, then I would say sadist only.

If you just flat out enjoy the discomfort, I would say you’re a 35+ who thinks there is more to this than just hawt abz.

That sure is a lot of squats. Great work M. How are the legs today? I wouldn’t walk for a week after that workout.

Cut tonight’s workout short. I’m a wuss.

Strick - Now I’m all confused. You’ve caused an identity crisis!

Eco - Legs were a bit creaky this morning, “But I’m feeling much better now”.

Math- to me, I am no engineer now…that is incredible balance…push to pull…well done… or as some new englanders say '“pissa”.

I like the bench, and rows, nice work.
22 reps that is a good number
