Mark Bell's Slingshot

We have a prototype. Kevin used it last week.

Interesting. Did he say if it seemed to help a lot?

His best raw bench is 385 and he hit 475 with it. That one was made for Suzanne who’s about half his body weight, so it was quite a bit tighter than a normally sized one would be.

I want one of these bad. My old shoulders are screaming at me these days. Any idea when it will be available? Can I get a pre-order?

Anything yet?

Waiting for updates!

Sling Shot will be coming in July.
www.HowMuchYaBench.net has some updated videos.

Uh, this is awkward, but you’ve got a little cum on your lip.

Thank You!

Cool note, apparently someone from ST broke their forearm while benching with the sling shot. I do not know all the circumstances… but a thread on BB.com has some info on what happened

The idea of it going around your elbows seems like a dumb idea to me.

No one from ST broke anything using a Sling Shot.

That was my fault, it wouldn’t let me edit in time and a mod edited my post since I linked to bb.com

Here is what I was meaning,

Team Wild Iron was using one last night and one of their lifters broke his arm while benching with it. isaku900 has video, but has decided not to post it. Instead he included a link to the Slingshot website in the daily training video which neglected to include the clip of the guy’s arm breaking.

Now Im not saying the slingshot did it and it could of been a million reasons, the idea of having all that support on your elbows doesn’t seem like a good idea tho.

Best of luck on the product, hope it works out for ya

Are you seriously trolling another forum with poor information?

Yes, injuries sometimes occur in powerlifting or any sport. We all know that anytime we get under a bar something could tear or break when you push your body to its limits. There’s no way we’d post a video of someone getting injured. In general, we don’t post missed lifts.

Mark wasn’t happy with how his wrists were wrapped before the 385 attempt. He took his wrist wraps off instead of adjusting them. Lesson learned: wear wrists wraps for max bench attempts.

He broke the radius and dislocated his wrist. He’s already had surgery (2 plates and 3 pins) and will be back at the gym tomorrow if he’s discharged in time.

Don’t get butt hurt. I am not ChaseT, I am far weaker than him :frowning:

If you are familiar with the thread on bb.com, then you would see it was a copy paste. The only reason I did that was because a mod edited my post due to linking to a comp. I was merely posting was was in discussion over there and bring it over here.

Glad to hear he is ok, if you could, could you keep us updated on how he is doing.

Yes, that happened at Wild Iron. Wild Iron was one of the test gyms for the Sling Shot. The guy was using a prototype that was several sizes too small for him. There are terms and conditions on the website explaining how to choose the correct size. When you’re in one that fits correctly, the movement feels natural and there isn’t a bunch of crazy torque.

hey i was looking at buying one of these slingshots, but their order form isnt working for me. how can i get ahold of someone so i can buy one??

Greg, I had errors in both IE and Firefox. So, I filled out a form on the “contact us” page. Andee emailed and asked that I call her.

Order complete.

Got mine today and will use it on Saturday. I’ll report back then.
